▶ In these cases, connect a portable residual current device (PRCD) between the power tool and the
power source.
Maintenance
WARNING
Danger of electric shock! Improper repairs to electrical components may lead to serious injuries including
burns.
▶ Repairs to the electrical section of the tool or appliance may be carried out only by trained electrical
specialists.
▶ Regularly check all external parts of the power tool and the accessories for signs of damage and make
sure that all the controls function correctly.
▶ Do not use the power tool if parts are damaged or if the controls do not function correctly. Have the
power tool repaired by Hilti Service.
7 Transport and storage
WARNING
Fire hazard. Hot parts of the machine could ignite material lying about in the surrounding area.
▶ Allow the product to cool down completely before packing it away or loading it into a vehicle..
CAUTION
Risk of damage. The cutting disc may suffer damage if the power tool is transported with the disc fitted.
▶ Remove the cutting disc before transporting the tool.
▶ Remove the cutting disc. → page 11
▶ Store the cutting discs in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
8 Troubleshooting
If the trouble you are experiencing isn’t listed in this table or you are unable to remedy the problem by
yourself, please contact Hilti Service.
Trouble or fault Possible cause Action to be taken
The power tool doesn’t start
or switches itself off.
Interruption in the electric supply. ▶ Check the electric supply
by connecting a different
appliance.
The portable residual current de-
vice (PRCD) has tripped because
of water ingress into the power
tool.
▶ Leave the power tool in a warm,
dry place until it has thoroughly
dried.
▶ Check the portable residual
current device. → page 10
The supply cord or plug is defec-
tive.
▶ Have the supply cord and plug
checked by a trained electrical
specialist and replaced if
necessary.
The on / off switch is defective. ▶ Have the power tool repaired by
Hilti Service.
The power tool has been
overloaded (overload protection
activated / application limits
exceeded).
▶ Release the on/off switch and
then press it again.
▶ Select a suitable power tool for
the application.
The overheating protection system
is active.
▶ Allow the power tool to cool
down and clean the air vents.
The restart interlock is active after
disconnection or an interruption in
the electric supply.
▶ Switch the power tool off and
then on again.
