System 1000 Power Vent™ Vent Controller Owners Manual Introduction With the purchase of your new Controller you have taken a step forward into the world of computerized climate control. The Hired Hand System 1000 Power Vent™ Controller is designed to offer the user a simple, low maintenance method of ventilation control. We sincerely believe that this system will meet your individual ventilation needs. The system includes the following features.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller high volume of warm, slow moving air lower volume of higher velocity cold air enters the building and mixes with the warm air in the ceiling of the building. The cold air is then slowed, and warmed before reaching ground level The above illustrations show that you need a different rate of air flow when the temperature changes. This is accomplished with the ramping feature. Modes of Operation Automatic Mode The system is in automatic mode, when the "Auto On" light is on.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller control, press the desired button. To stop vent movement, press Off. To return to automatic mode, press Auto On. Understanding the Faceplate. The Faceplate (keypad) of the controller is composed of ten buttons that work together to allow many different uses. They can either turn a feature on or off, manually open or close the vents, or raise, or lower setpoints.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller 100 90 80 Temperature °F 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 0 Negative Pressure “ w.c. The preceding graph shows what the ramp mode looks like on paper. The vertical lines show in-house pressure, whereas the horizontal lines show outside temperature. By the chart above the controller was programmed as follows: High end temperature High end pressure Low end temperature Low end pressure 80°F .04"w.c. 20°F .10"w.c.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller Synchronize When two units are operated within one building, it is inevitable that one unit will get ahead of the other one--thus efficiency is lost. However when the synchronize feature is used, once a day (at noon) both units open completely for about 4 minutes, then go back to normal operation. This ensures that the power units are "synchronized". This feature is used only when the controller is operating two units.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller Locking the Keypad The keypad on the System 1000 Power Curtain Controller may be locked to prevent accidental tampering with the intended program. To lock the keypad, press and hold the Change Setting up and down buttons simultaneously. The word "locking" will appear in the lower line of the controllers display. Keep holding the buttons until that word changes to the word "locked", then release. This should take from five to ten seconds.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller 4. The controller will then be re-initialized and ready to operate in a few seconds. 5. IMPORTANT!! Always "Zero out" the controller after initializing to ensure that the power unit counters are accurate. If the counters are not reading the right position, it could cause improper operation. To Zero out the controller, press manual close and let the curtain fully close. The controller will stop motion when the curtain is closed.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller attach contacts to the position marked "NC". If your alarm is a "normally open" system, use the position marked "NO". 9. Apply power to the system. Set points The unit allows the operator to set the system according to his or her needs. Set points can be changed as often as desired.
System 1000 Power Vent Controller Programming Guide Sample Setup This section is given as an example of how to program the controller for your individual needs. For this example the house is set up with one controller operating two power units. Each power unit controls the vents on its respective side. Vents Power Units Vents Fans In the above example, one controller is operating two power units.

System 1000 Power Vent Controller Temperature vs. Sensor Resistance Table The following chart gives the resistance when measured between the white and black sensor wires at a given temperture. To check a sensor, first know the temperature in the area, then use a multimeter to check the resonance.
