12. Add comments to the printcap file. For example, you can type:

13. Select exit to save your configuration and press .
You are now prepared to print.
6.2.2.7 Setting Up a SCO UNIX Remote Printers to
Use lpd
Set up a remote printer on the host that sends jobs to a NIC using
lpd. Use the following procedures to do this:
1. At the prompt, type:
#mkdev rlp

2. You will now be asked a series of questions. Respond as fol-
lows. “Do you want to install or remove a remote printer?”
Type:

3. “Do you want to change printer description file /etc/printcap?”
Type:
Y
4. Type in a printer name. For example, type: printer1
5. “Is printer1 a remote printer or a local printer?” Type: R
6. Enter remote host name: type host name entered in printcap for
NIC. For example, type:
printfast

• You cannot run mkdev rlp twice. If you have additional printers to
