Thisfeatureprovidesamethodofindexingthestarting
point.Andyoucaneasilysearchtheindexmarkineither
fastforwardorrewinddirection.
• Theindexmarkwillbemadeautomaticallywhenthe
RECbuttonispressed.It willalsobemarkedatthe
startingpointofTimerrecordingandOTR.
• Theindexmarkisnotrecordedif thePAUSE/STILL
buttonispressedandreleasedduringrecording.
• Thetimegapbetweenmakingtheindexmarksonthe
tapeshouldbegreaterthan1minuteforSPrecording,
2 minutesforLPrecordingand3 minutesforSLP
recording.
• Indexmarkscannotbemadeif theerase-protection
tabonthecassettehasbeenremoved.
• Indexsearchcanbesetupto20.
• Thisfunctionisnotoperativein recording mode.
• Counter N4emory function is not operative in this
mode.
• You must use the remote control for this procedure.

• Power must be turned on and insert a tape.
hi the example below: You are watching fourth pro-
gram (program number 4) and want to fast forward to
seventh program (program number 7). You must skip
three programs.

1 Select "INDEX SEARCH"
Press the MENU button.
Press the PLAY/A or STOP/Y
button to point to "INDEX
SEARCH"".

Press the REW or F.FWD button. The TV/VCR begins
rewindin_ or fast fo_-warding then goes into the Play
mode at the beginr in g of desired program.
NOTE: Every time aa index signal is skipped, the num-
ber in the program in:licator decreases by one.

When the preset program is reached, normal playback
will start.

• While setting: Press the MENU button.
• While the Index Search is in progress: Press the
STOP/EJECT button on the TVfVCR or the remote
