• USING THE REMOTE CONTROL Battery Insertion 3V [2 x “AAA” cell or IEC R03 or JIS R03P (JIS UM-4)] 1. 2. 3. 4. Point the remote control at the remote sensor ① when operation. The remote control may not be effective in strong day light. Never get the remote control wet. Replace the batteries when the performance of the remote control becomes unstable. Note: • Do not use new and old batteries or different kinds of batteries together.
PRECAUTIONS • When the set is not going to be used for a long time, unplug the AC lead and remove the batteries. • If a CD player is being operated while you are receiving a radio broadcast, you may hear a noise with the broadcast. If so, turn the operative switch of the CD player [OFF]. • Do not leave exhausted batteries in the compartment as they will leak and cause corrosion and damage. • Never open the covers or touch the inside or insert a metal object.

TAPE RECORDER SECTION REWIND ( ) AND FAST FORWARD ( ) BUTTONS To rewind the tape, press the REWIND Button [10]. To rapidly advance the tape, press the F.FWD Button [11]. To stop rewinding or fast forwarding, press the STOP/EJECT Button [12]. PAUSE BUTTON ( ) To halt the tape temporarily during recording or playback, press the PAUSE Button [13]. To release the pause mode, press the PAUSE Button again. STOP/EJECT BUTTON ( ■ / =) When this button is pressed with the tape running, the tape stops.
REMOTE CONTROL UNIT • • The Remote Control Unit controls the function of CD operation only. The power of the main unit must be connected and SOURCE set to CD mode. OPERATION 1. PROGRAM Press this button to program and store in the memory. 2. PLAY/ PAUSE During "PLAY", press the same again to resume play. CHECK THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE Tape recorder Power Before you jump to the conclusion that it’s out of order! When the set is not operating properly, one is apt to assume that the set is faulty. There are, however, many possible faults which are not directly attributable to the set itself. It is recommended to check the following before taking the set to a Hitachi dealer. Symptom No AC power. No DC power. Tape does not run when a button is pressed. Cassette cannot be inserted.
