H97H1BD(EN).qx4 04.10.27 5:11 PM Page 15 HI-FI STEREO SOUND SYSTEM This DVD/VCR will record and playback Hi-Fi stereo sound. In addition it has a NICAM stereo sound decoder. This equipment will receive stereo and bilingual broadcasts and there are several ways of recording and playing back the sound. Selecting the Sound Mode VCR You can select each mode by pressing AUDIO on the remote control. Each mode is indicated on the TV screen as following.

The clock must be set for the Automatic Timer Recording function to operate correctly. Your DVD/VCR is fitted with PDC (Refer to page 20). If the PDC signal is available in your area, your DVD/VCR can get the current time from your local PDC broadcast.

The DVD/VCR will turn on. • If the safety tab has been removed, the VCR will start playback automatically. • If a cassette is in DVD/VCR, STOP symbol appears in TV screen when turning on the DVD/VCR(VCR mode). 2 Turn on the TV and select the video channel on the TV. 3 Begin playback by pressing B (PLAY).

The DVD/VCR begins rewinding or fast forwarding to the specified point. When 0:00 is reached, the DVD/VCR will start playback automatically. • If you want to go in the forward direction, press B. • If you want to go in the reverse direction, press s.

While the month digit is flashing, press K or L repeatedly to select “WMO” (Example: every monday). 5 For once-only recording only : Press K or L repeatedly until your desired day appears. 6 Press K or L repeatedly until the relevant start hour appears. Next, enter the minute digit. 7 Press K or L repeatedly until the relevant end hour appears.

WARNING: Unauthorized recordings of copyrighted video tapes may be an infringement of copyright laws. Connect the recording DVD/VCR (this unit), playing VCR (another VCR) and your TV as outline in the following diagram. 1 Insert a pre-recorded video cassette into the playing VCR.
H97H1BD(EN).qx4 04.10.27 5:11 PM Page 22 PLAYING A DISC • Pressing DISC NAVIGATION before pressing ENTER or B (PLAY) at step 3 will cease the DISC NAVIGATION function, and the playback will be stopped. The resume information will be lost. • When a disc menu is shown, the DISC NAVIGATION feature does not function. • DISC NAVIGATION takes a few seconds to respond. • With some discs, part of the DISC NAVIGATION screen may not be displayed properly. This is not a malfunction.

NOTES: • The resume playback takes a little longer to take place compared to the normal playback. • The resume information stays on even when the power is turned off.

REPEAT TRACK CD To activate the repeat function, press REPEAT during playback. • The repeat mode changes as described below every time you press the button.

You can change the camera angle when the ( ) mark appears on the screen. If the “ANGLE MARK” setting is “OFF” in the Display setting, the ( ) icon will not appear. (Refer to page 26.) 1 Press ANGLE during playback. • The selected angle will be displayed on the display bar at the top of the screen.

DVD’s audio setup will not affect CD playback. 1 In STOP menu press SETUP. 2 Press s or B to select “CUSTOM”, then press ENTER. • CUSTOM menu will appear. 3 Press s or B to select “AUDIO”, then ENTER to confirm. 4 Press K or L to select an item, then press ENTER.
