Basic Operation
Turning the unit on
1. Press the ON/STANDBY button.
Selecting a radio band
2. Press the WS/RADIO button.
The current band name appears in the display window.
3. Slide the BAND selector to the desired band.
The selected band name appears.
Tuning in a station automatically
4. Press and hold BC/FREQ UP (8) or BC/FREQ DOWN
(9) for half a second or more.
The unit begins scanning all receivable stations of the
band. Each time the unit reaches an active station,
“LOCKED” and the station's frequency appear in the
display window.
Adjusting the telescopic antenna
5. FM: Extend the telescopic antenna all the way
and swivel for best reception.
SW1/SW2: Extend the telescopic antenna all the way
for best reception, but do not swivel.
MW: Rotate the unit for best reception.
Other tuning methods
Before the following operation, turn the unit on and select a
radio band.
Manual tuning
6. Press and hold BC/FREQ UP (8) or BC/FREQ DOWN
(9) for half a second or more.
The unit begins scanning.
7. Press BC/FREQ UP (8) or BC/FREQ DOWN (9)
repeatedly until the desired frequency appears in the
display window.
When you press BC/FREQ UP (8) or BC/FREQ DOWN
(9) repeatedly, it functions as manual tuning and adjusts
the frequency in steps according to the following table:

Direct tuning
8. Press the BACK SPACE/DIRECT button.
“- - - - ” flashes in the display window for 10 seconds.
9. Press the number buttons which correspond to the
frequency (the “.” (point mark) is not necessary).
Example: For 9.505MHz, press “9”, “5”, “0”, and “5”.
10. Press the ENTER button within 10 seconds after step 9.
The frequency appears. When the station is received
“LOCKED” appears.
NOTE:
• If you entered a frequency number which is out of the
frequency range, “ERR” flashes in the display window.
In this case, repeat steps 8-10.

Mise sous tension de l’appareil
1. Appuyez sur la touche ON/STANDBY.

2. Appuyez sur la touche WS/RADIO.
Le nom de la gamme actuelle apparaît sur l’affichage.
3. Faites glisser le sélecteur BAND sur la gamme désirée.
Le nom de la gamme sélectionnée s’affiche.
Syntonisation automatique d’une station
4. Appuyez sur la touche BC/FREQ UP (8) ou BC/FREQ
DOWN (9) et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant une
demi-seconde ou davantage.
L’appareil balaie toutes les stations de la gamme qu’il
est susceptible de capter. Chaque fois qu’il atteint une
station en émission, l’indication “LOCKED” et la
fréquence de la station apparaissent sur l’affichage.
Réglage de l’antenne télescopique
5. FM: Déployez complètement l’antenne
télescopique et faites-la pivoter pour
obtenir une réception optimale.
OC1/OC2: Déployez complètement l’antenne
télescopique pour une réception optimale,
mais ne la faites pas pivoter.
PO: Tournez l’appareil pour obtenir une
réception optimale.
Autres méthodes de syntonisation
Avant d’exécuter la procédure suivante, mettez l’appareil
sous tension et sélectionnez une gamme d’ondes.
Syntonisation manuelle
6. Appuyez sur la touche BC/FREQ UP (8) ou BC/FREQ
DOWN (9) et maintenez-la enfoncée pendant une
demi-seconde ou davantage.
L’appareil passe en mode de balayage.
7. Appuyez à plusieurs reprises sur la touche BC/FREQ
UP (8) ou BC/FREQ DOWN (9) jusqu’à ce que la
fréquence souhaitée apparaisse sur l’affichage.
Lorsque vous appuyez à plusieurs reprises sur la touche
BC/FREQ UP (8) ou BC/FREQ DOWN (9), elle fait office
de touche de syntonisation manuelle et sélectionne la
fréquence par pas, de la manière indiquée dans le tableau
suivant:

Syntonisation directe
8. Appuyez sur la touche BACK SPACE/DIRECT.
“- - - - ” clignote sur l’affichage pendant 10 secondes.
9. Appuyez sur les touches numériques qui correspondent
à la fréquence (le “.” (symbole du point) n’est pas
nécessaire).
Exemple : Pour 9.505 MHz, appuyez sur “9”, “5”, “0” et
“5”.
10. Appuyez sur la touche ENTER dans les 10 secondes
qui suivent l’étape 9.
La fréquence apparaît. Dès que la station est captée,
l’indication “LOCKED” s’affiche.
REMARQUE:
• Si vous introduisez une fréquence qui n’appartient pas à la
plage de fréquences, l’indication “ERR” clignote sur
l’affichage. Répétez alors les étapes 8-10.
