Make sure the transmitter is powered off. 2. Make sure the transmitter controls are neutral, the throttle and throttle trim are in the low position and the aircraft is immobile. 3. Install a bind plug in the receiver bind port. 4. Connect the flight battery to the ESC. The ESC will produce a series of sounds.
Sportsman® S+ EN Assembly Installing the Main Landing Gear The nose gear is installed at the factory. Always ensure the steering linkage clevis on the rudder servo arm is correctly adjusted so the nose steers straight when the rudder control is at neutral. 2 1 C D A 1. Turn the model so you can see the bottom of the fuselage. - Install the left and right fairings (A) on the respective sides of the landing gear strut as shown.
Sportsman® S+ EN Installing the Wing 1. Connect the left and right struts (A) (marked L and R) to the respective sides of the wing (B) using the included screws (C). Leave the screws loose until the wing is installed on the fuselage and the ball ends are snapped into place. 1 B D - Connect the aileron servo connectors to the included Y-harness (D) in the fuselage. The left and right servos can be connected to either side of the Y-harness.

Sportsman® S+ EN Installing the Flight Battery and Initializing GPS and Electronic Speed Control (ESC) 1. Place the aircraft upside down on a flat surface and turn the latch (A) to remove the battery hatch. 2. Lower the throttle and throttle trim, then power on the transmitter. 2 1 A 3. Transmitter command Mode 1 When the aircraft’s nose is pointing toward you, left aileron will bank and turn the aircraft left (your right while holding the transmitter). Sportsman® S+ EN Trimming the Aircraft Manually Adjusting Trim It is recommend that the SAFE Plus flight mode switch is set to Experienced mode (position 2) before manually adjusting trim. Perform manual adjustment of trim before increasing the throttle above 25% or the control surfaces will move when the aircraft is moved.
Sportsman® S+ EN Range Test Before each flying session, and especially with a new model, you should perform a range check. The DX4e incorporates a range testing system. Placing the transmitter in RANGE CHECK mode reduces the output power, allowing a range check. 1 1. Power on the transmitter for 5 seconds or more with the throttle stick and trim low. Plug in the aircraft battery and keep the aircraft immobile for 5 seconds. Keep immobile and out of the wind for 5 seconds 2.
Sportsman® S+ EN Flying Technology Flight Modes CH 5 Beginner Mode: • Below approx. 33 feet (10m), pitch (nose up and down) and roll (wing tips up and down) angles are limited to help you keep the aircraft airborne. Pitch Roll Pitch Roll Pitch Roll Beginner Mode (Switch Position 0) • Above approx. 33 feet (10m), pitch and roll control are increased slightly. • At any time release both sticks to activate Panic Recovery mode for self-leveling.
Sportsman® S+ EN Takeoff procedure/Initiating GPS lock We recommend starting your aircraft is in beginner mode and taking off from the ground for your first few flights. Virtual Fence: Park Setting (VF Park) (Default) Locate a flying area free of obstacles (trees, buildings, etc.) with a radius of approximately 650 feet (200m). Notice: Virtual Fence is present in all flight modes. Virtual Fence: Park (default) VF Park uses GPS to establish an approximately 650 ft (200m) flying radius for the aircraft.
Sportsman® S+ EN Takeoff Ensure that the aircraft is in Beginner Mode (Switch Position 0) for your first flights. Wind 0–12 mph (0–19km/h) Ground Launch Once you have finished step four from the Takeoff Procedure section, use the following illustration. Slowly advance the throttle stick. No additional stick inputs required. Ensure the aircraft is launched into the wind to when the throttle is advanced above 90% for the first time to properly set the systems landing heading.
Sportsman® S+ EN In flight continued Deactivating GPS in Flight If at anytime you experience the GPS system malfunctioning while in flight, deactivate it to regain full manual control. Deactivate the GPS in flight by holding the HP/AL button down for at least 3 seconds, then remain holding the HP/ AL button while toggling the mode switch at least 5 times from position 0 to 2 and back , as shown. 1 5 3 Once the GPS has been deactivated the aircraft will be in full manual control in SAFE mode.
Sportsman® S+ EN Hold for 3 sec. to land Landing AutoLand feature When you are finished flying or your flight timer has signaled, press and hold the HP/AL button on the transmitter for 3 seconds. The aircraft will instantly turn to align itself for an upwind approach. CH 5 Once activated the aircraft will maneuver to an altitude of approx. 65 ft (20m), approx. 490 ft (150m) downwind from the takeoff point. Then turn into the wind and begin the final landing approach.
Sportsman® S+ EN Deactivating GPS Out of the box the aircraft’s GPS feature is activated. However, you may choose to deactivate the GPS system to perform a control direction test indoors or to simply enjoy the aircraft without GPS features. 1 IMPORTANT: When the GPS feature is deactivated, the aircraft’s Holding Pattern, AutoLand and Virtual fence features will not function. To deactivate the GPS system, ensure that your transmitter is bound the the aircraft. 2 1.

Sportsman® S+ DE Laden des Flugakkus ACHTUNG: Achten Sie bei dem Zusammenstecken des Akku und Ladekabel darauf, dass der Stecker wie in der Abbildung 4 dargestellt richtig herum zusammengesteckt wird. Ein falsch gepoltes Zusammenstecken kann zu einem Kurzschluß führen, welcher zu Feuer und Sach- sowie Personenschäden führen kann.

Sportsman® S+ DE Montage des Modells Montage des Fahrwerkes Das Bugfahrwerk ist bereits ab Werk eingebaut. Bitte überprüfen Sie immer ob die Anlenkung des Fahrwerks korrekt justiert ist, so dass das Modell bei neutralen Ruder geradeaus fährt. 2 1 C D A 1. Drehen Sie das Modell auf den Rücken, so dass die Unterseite nach oben zeigt. - Setzen Sie wie abgebildet die beiden Fahrwerksverkleidungen auf die linke und rechte Strebe. - Setzen Sie das Fahrwerk wie abgebildet in den Schlitz am Rumpfboden ein.
Sportsman® S+ DE Montage der Tragfläche 1. Schließen Sie die linken und rechten Streben (A markiert mit R und L) an die entsprechende Seite der Fläche mit den im Lieferumfang befindlichen Schrauben (C) an. Lassen Sie die Schrauben lose bis die Tragflächen montiert und die Kugelköpfe angeschlossen sind. - Schließen Sie die Queruderanschlußkabel an das Rumpf befindlichen Y-Kabel (D) an. Die linke und rechte Seite kann wahlweise angeschlossen werden.
Sportsman® S+ Optionaler Kamerahalter Im Lieferumfang des Flugzeuges befindet sich ein Kamerahalter für die EFC-721 720p HD Videokamera (EFLA801). Befestigen Sie den Halter mit doppelseitigem Klebeband wie abgebildet. DE E-flite 720p HD Videokamera (EFLA801) A Ermitteln des Flugzeugschwerpunktes Ein Flugzeug mit korrekt eingestelltem Schwerpunkt ist ausbalanciert und fliegt sicher und stabil. Der Schwerpunkt des Flugzeuges befindet sich 45mm hinter der vorderen Tragflächenkante wie abgebildet.
Sportsman® S+ DE Einsetzen des Flugakkus, Initialisierung des GPS und Reglers (ESC) 1. Legen Sie das Flugzeug auf den Rücken und drehen den Verschlussriegel (A) um die Akkuklappe zu entfernen. 2. Bringen Sie den Gashebel und die Gastrimmung ganz nach unten und schalten dann den Sender ein. 2 1 A 3. Zentrieren und sichern Sie den Flugakku (B) in dem Akkufach mit Klettstreifen (C), so dass das Flugzeug einen ausgewogenen Schwerpunkt hat. 4.
Sportsman® S+ DE Steuerkontrolltest Wir empfehlen, dass Sie diesen Test draußen durchführen, so dass das Flugzeug eine GPS Verbindung herstellen kann mit dem SAFE Plus Flugmodeschalter auf den Expertenmode (Position 2). *Mode 2 Sender abgebildet. Bei Mode 1 befindet sich die Höhenruderkontrolle auf dem linken Knüppel und die Gaskontrolle auf dem rechts Knüppel.
Sportsman® S+ DE Flugkontrolle Führen Sie für eine präzise Kontrolle des Flugzeuges stets nur kleine Korrekturen durch. Alle Richtungen werden so beschrieben als ob Sie im Flugzeug sitzen. • Höhenruder rauf oder runter: Drücken Sie den Höhenrudersteuerhebel wird das Fluzeug die Nase runter nehmen. Ziehen Sie den Hebel nach hinten nimmt das Flugzeug die Nase nach oben und steigt.
Sportsman® S+ DE Trimmen des Flugzeuges Manuelle Einstellung der Trimmung Wir empfehlen den SAFE Plus Flugmodeschalter auf den Expertenmode (Position 2) zu schalten bevor Sie die Trimmung manuell ändern. Führen Sie die Einstellungen durch bevor Sie das Gas über 25% erhöht haben, da sich die Ruderflächen sonst bei Bewegung des Flugzeuges auch bewegen. Stellen Sie sämtliche Trimmungen zurück auf Neutrale Position in dem Sie den Schieber auf die Mittelposition bringen.
Sportsman® S+ DE Reichweitentest Vor jeder Flugsession, insbesondere mit einem neuen Modell, sollten Sie einen Reichweitentest durchführen. Die DX4 ist dazu mit einem Testsystem ausgestattet. Die Aktivierung des Reichweitentests reduziert die Ausgangsleistung. 1 Keep immobile and out of the wind for 5 seconds 1. Schalten Sie den Sender mit Gas und Gastrimmung nach unten fünf Sekunden vor dem Empfänger ein. Verbinden Sie den Flugzeugakku mit dem Flugzeug.
Sportsman® S+ DE Fliegen Technologie Flug Modes CH 5 Beginner Mode: • Unter einer Flughöhe von 10 Metern ist der Nickwinkel (Nase rauf und runter) und Rollwinkel (Flächenenden rauf und runter) begrenzt um das Flugzeug in der Luft zu halten. Nicken Rollen Nicken Rollen Beginner Mode (Schalter Position 0) • Überhalb von 10 Meter Flughöhe ist der Roll- und Nickwinkel etwas vergrößert.
Sportsman® S+ DE Startvorgang / GPS Verbindung herstellen Wir empfehlen ihnen für die ersten Flüge das Flugzeug im Beginnermode von Boden aus zu starten. Suchen Sie sich ein Flugfeld das frei von Hindernissen (Bäumen, Gebäuden etc) ist und ein Radius von 200 Metern hat. Virtueller Zaun: Parkeinstellung (VF Park) Standard) Hinweis: Der virtuelle Zaun ist in allen Flugmodes aktiv. Virtueller Zaun: Park (Standard) Der virtuelle Parkzaun nutzt das GPS um einen 200m großen Flugradius zu schaffen.
Sportsman® S+ DE Starten Versichern Sie sich, dass für ersten Flüge der Beginner Mode (Schalter Position 0) aktiviert ist. Wind 0–12 mph (0–19km/h) Bodenstart Haben Sie den Schritt vier der Starvorbereitungen erledigt nutzen Sie zum weiteren Vorgehen die folgende Abbildung. Schieben eben Sie den Gashebel langsam nach vorne. Es sind keine zusätzlichen Steuerknüppeleingaben erforderlich.
Sportsman® S+ DE Im Flug Deaktivierung des GPS im Fluge Sollte es vorkommen, dass das GPS-System im Fluge Probleme macht, deaktivieren Sie es um wieder die volle Kontrolle über das Modell zu erhalten. Um das GPS im Fluge zu deaktivieren, halten Sie den HP/ AL Knopf für mindestens 3 Sekunden gedrückt und schalten Sie dann den Mode Schalter mindestens 5 mal zwischen 0 und 2 hin und her während Sie den HP/AL Knopf weiter gedrückt halten.
Sportsman® S+ Landen AutoLand feature Wenn Sie ihren Flug beenden wollen oder der Timer mahnt zur Landung, drücken und halten Sie den HP/AL Button auf dem Sender für drei Sekunden. Das Flugzeug wird sich dann unverzüglich in einen Anflug gegen den Wind begeben. DE 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten um zu landen. CH 5 Ist die Funktion aktiviert wird das Flugzeug in einer Höhe von 65 Metern und 150 Meter Entfernung in den Gegenanflug mit dem Wind gehen.
Sportsman® S+ DE Deaktivieren des GPS Aus der Packung heraus ist die GPS Funktion des Flugzeuges aktiviert. Sie können jedoch auch diese Funktion deaktivieren wenn Sie in geschlossenen Räumen eine Funktionsüberprüfung durchführen wollen oder das Flugzeug einmal ohne GPS Funktionen fliegen möchten. Wichtig: Bei deaktivierten GPS Funktion funktioniert die Warteschleife, Virtueller Zaun und automatische Landefunktion nicht.
Sportsman® S+ DE Wartung der Antriebskomponenten ACHTUNG: Trennen Sie immer den Flugakku vom Modell bevor Sie den Propeller abnehmen. I 1. Entfernen Sie die Schraube (A), den Spinner (B) von der Mutter (C) 2. Entfernen Sie die Mutter, den Propeller (D) und die Spinnerrückplatte (E) vom Mitnehmer. Contrôlez que votre émetteur est bien hors tension. 2. Assurez-vous que les manches des gouvernes soient au neutre, que le manche et le trim des gaz soient en position basse et que l’avion est immobile. 3. Insérez la prise de bind dans le port BIND du récepteur. 4. Connectez la batterie au contrôleur.

Toujours contrôler que la chape de la tringlerie de direction fixée au bras du servo de dérive est correctement réglée de façon que l’avion roule en ligne droite quand la dérive est au neutre. 2 1 C D A 1. Retournez le fuselage de façon à avoir le dessous face à vous. - Installez les habillages de train gauche et droit (A) sur les jambes de train comme sur l’illustration.
Sportsman® S+ FR Installation de l’aile 1. Reliez les haubans (A) gauche et droit (marqué L et R) à leurs côtés respectifs de l’aile (B) en utilisant les vis (C) incluses. Ne serrez pas les vis avant d’avoir mis l’aile en place et d’avoir emboîté les rotules. 1 B - Connectez les prises des servos d’ailerons au cordon Y (D) situé dans le fuselage. Le servo gauche et le droit peuvent être connectés de n’importe quel côté du cordon Y. Vérifiez que le cordon Y est relié au port AILE du réepteur.

Placez la batterie (B) au centre du compartiment à batterie, utilisez la sangle auto-agrippante (C) pour la sécuriser en position et que l’avion soit parfaitement centré à son centre de gravité (CG). 4.

Sportsman® S+ FR Commandes de vol Pour un pilotage en douceur de votre avion, toujours effectuer de petites corrections. Toutes les directions sont décrites comme si vous étiez à l’intérieur de l’avion. Il est conseillé d’effectuer les premiers vols en Mode débutant (Position 0). IMPORTANT: Bien que la technologie SAFE plus fournisse une grande assistance, l’avion doit toujours être piloté manuellement. Si vous donnez un ordre incorrect à basse altitude ou à basse vitesse, l’avion peut s’écraser.
Sportsman® S+ FR Réglage des trims de l’avion Réglage manuel des trims Il est recommandé de sélectionner le Mode Expérimenté (position 2 de l’inter SAFE plus) avant d’effectuer le réglage manuel. Effectuez ce test avant d’activer le SAFE plus, si vous augmentez les gaz au dessus de 25%, les gouvernes bougeront seules en fonction des mouvements de l’avion.
Sportsman® S+ FR Test de portée Avant chaque session de vol, nous vous recommandons de contrôler que votre avion répond parfaitement aux ordres de l’émetteur et spécialement lorsqu’il s’agit d’un nouveau modèle. La DX4e possède un système de test de portée. Le passage de l’émetteur en mode TEST DE PORTEE réduit le puissance d’émission, permettant d’effectuer le test de la portée. 1 Laissez l’avion immobile et à l’écart du vent durant 5 secondes. 1.
Sportsman® S+ FR Vol Modes de vol CH 5 Mode débutant : • En dessous d’une altitude de 10m environ, le tangage (Nez vers le haut ou le bas) et le roulis (Aile vers le haut ou le bas) sont limités pour éviter les mauvaises manœuvres et ainsi garder l’avion en l’air. Tangage Roulis Tangage Roulis Tangage Roulis Mode débutant (Inter position 0) • Au dessus d’une altitude de 10m environ, les axes de roulis et de tangage ont une une plus grande amplitude mais restent limités.
Sportsman® S+ FR Procédure de décollage / Initialisation de GPS Nous vous recommandons d’effectuer les premiers vols en mode débutant et de décoller depuis le sol. Clôture virtuelle : Parc (Par défaut) Sélectionnez une zone totalement dégagée (Pas d’arbres, constructions, etc) d’un diamètre de 400m environ. REMARQUE: La clôture virtuelle (Virtual Fence) est présente dans tous les modes de vol. Clôture virtuelle : Parc (Par défaut) Le GPS est utilisé pour définir une zone d’un rayon d’environ 200m.
Sportsman® S+ FR Décollage Assurez-vous que l’avion est bien en Mode Débutant (Inter position 0) pour effectuer vos premiers vols. Vent 0–19km/h Décollage depuis le sol Après l’étape 4 de la procédure de décollage, consultez l’illustration de droite. Poussez ssez progressivement le manche des gaz. Vous n’avez pas besoin d’agir sur les autres commandes.
Sportsman® S+ FR Durant le vol (Suite) Désactivation du GPS durant le vol Si à un moment durant le vol vous remarquez un dysfonctionnement du système GPS, désactivez-le pour revenir en pilotage entièrement manuel. Pour désactiver le GPS durant le vol, maintenez appuyé le bouton HP/AL durant 3 secondes minimum et actionnez au moins 5 fois l’interrupteur de mode de vol de la position 0 à 2 et inversement tout en maintenant appuyé le bouton HP/AL comme indiqué sur l’illustration.
Sportsman® S+ Atterrissage Fonction d’atterrissage automatique (AL Auto-Land) Quand vous souhaitez arrêter le vol ou que la minuterie vous a signalé que le temps est écoulé, pressez durant 3 secondes le bouton Bind/HP/AL de l’émetteur. L’avion va instantanément se placer face au vent et débuter l’approche.
Sportsman® S+ FR Désactivation du GPS L’avion est livré par défaut avec la fonction GPS activée. Cependant vous pouvez le désactiver pour effectuer un test des commandes en intérieur ou piloter l’avion sans la fonction GPS. Appoggiare l’aereo a terra girato al contrario su di una superficie piana e girare il chiavistello (A) per togliere il portello della batteria. 2. Sportsman® S+ IT Prova dei comandi Si raccomanda di eseguire questa prova all’aperto, in modo che il GPS si possa agganciare, con la modalità di volo del SAFE Plus su Esperto (posizione 2). * Il trasmettitore illustrato è in Mode 2. Nel Mode 1, il comando elevatore è sullo stick di sinistra e il comando motore è sullo stick di destra. Elevatore in alto (salita) Prima di eseguire la prova dei comandi all’interno, disattivare il GPS come illustrato nella specifica sezione di questo manuale.
Sportsman® S+ IT Controllo in volo Per controllare dolcemente l’aereo, fare sempre correzioni piccole e graduali. Tutte le direzioni sono indicate come se si fosse seduti nell’aereo. Comando dal trasmettitore Modo 1 Per i primi voli è opportuno impostare la modalità di volo su Principiante (posizione 0). IMPORTANTE: sebbene la tecnologia SAFE Plus aiuti molto, è ancora necessario pilotare manualmente l’aereo.
Sportsman® S+ IT Trimmaggio dell’aereo Regolazione del trim manuale Prima di regolare manualmente i trim, si consiglia di posizionare la modalità di volo del SAFE Plus su Esperto (posizione 2). Eseguire la regolazione manuale dei trim prima di aumentare il motore oltre il 25% altrimenti le superfici di controllo si muoveranno ad ogni movimento dell’aereo.
Sportsman® S+ IT Prova della portata radio Prima di ogni sessione di voli, e specialmente con un nuovo modello, bisognerebbe eseguire una prova di portata del radiocomando. Il DX4e incorpora un sistema per fare questa prova. Mettendo il trasmettitore in modalità RANGE CHECK, viene ridotta la potenza di emissione per cui si può fare agevolmente la prova in questione. 1 Mantenere immobile e al riparo dal vento per almeno 5 secondi 1.
Sportsman® S+ IT In volo Modalità di volo con la tecnologia SAFE Plus CH 5 Modalità Principiante: • Al di sotto della quota di 10m, gli angoli di beccheggio (naso in su e in giù) e di rollio (estremità alari in su e in giù) vengono limitati per aiutare a mantenere l’aereo in volo. Beccheggio Rollio Beccheggio Rollio Modalità Principiante (interruttore in posizione 0) • Al di sopra della quota di 10m i controlli su beccheggio e rollio vengono incrementati leggermente.
Sportsman® S+ IT Procedura di decollo/Avviamento del GPS Noi raccomandiamo di iniziare con l’aereo in modalità Principiante e di decollare da terra per i primi voli. Individuare un’area di volo libera da ostacoli (alberi, edifici, ecc.) per un raggio di almeno 200m. Recinto virtuale: impostazioni per un’area libera (VF Park) (default) Avviso: il Recinto Virtuale (VF) è presente in tutte le modalità di volo.
Sportsman® S+ IT Decollo Assicurarsi che l’aereo si trovi nella modalità principianti (interruttore in posizione 0) per il vostro primo volo. Vento 0–19km/h Lancio da terra Terminato il punto 4 nella procedura di decollo precedente, usare le illustrazioni seguenti. Accertarsi che l’aereo venga lanciato contro vento mentre il motore viene portato oltre al 90% per la prima volta per impostare correttamente le indicazioni per l’atterraggio. Avanzare lentamente il comando motore.
Sportsman® S+ IT In volo (continua) Disattivazione del GPS durante il volo Se durante il volo dovesse occorrere un malfunzionamento del sistema GPS, bisogna disattivarlo per ripristinare il completo controllo manuale. Disattivare il GPS durante il volo, tenendo premuto il tasto HP/AL per almeno 3 secondi, continuare a premere il tasto HP/AL, spostando l’interruttore selezione modalità avanti e indietro per al meno 5 volte dalla posizione 0 alla posizione 2, come illustrato.
Sportsman® S+ Atterraggio Funzione AutoLand (atterraggio automatico) Quando si decide di terminare il volo o il timer segnala che il tempo è scaduto, tenere premuto il tasto HP/AL per 3 secondi. Immediatamente l’aereo vira automaticamente per un avvicinamento sopra vento. IT Per atterrare tenere premuto per 3 sec. CH 5 In questa condizione l’aereo manovra da una quota di circa 20m e ad una distanza di circa 150m sotto vento rispetto al punto di decollo.
Sportsman® S+ IT Disattivare il GPS Normalmente l’aereo viene fornito con la funzione GPS attivata. Però si può scegliere di disattivarla per fare un controllo della direzione dei comandi al coperto o semplicemente per usare l’aereo senza la funzione GPS. 1 Importante: quando si disattiva la funzione GPS, il Funzione HP, l’AutoLand e Recinto virtuale non funzionano. Per disattivare il GPS, accertarsi che il trasmettitore sia connesso all’aereo. 2 1.
