2.3 Day/Night Switching Tab
2.3.1 Day Start / Night Start –
These values are the tim es to the nearest hour at which t he day /night switc hing is desired t o take place
on the detector. Entries are m ade in 24-hour format, e.g. 19 for 7pm. Day and night swi tching i s i ntended
so that the detect or may automaticall y select a different sensi tivit y when the protected ar ea is unoccupied
and fewer contam inants are being produced. Cl assiF ire automatically detects the change in sm ok e l ev el
after the protected area is left, and if the time at whic h this happens i s wit hin + 70 mi nutes of the
program med switc hover time it selects the ni ght-tim e histogram. This means that c hanges in time setti ng,
for example changing to summer tim e, may be i gnor ed as the detec tor will tak e this i nto acc ount. The
default times for day and night star t are 08:00 and 19:00 respectively.
NOTE: That if t he env ir onm ent actually becomes more cont am inated duri ng the night peri od for any
reason then ClassiFire will adapt to that too, reduc ing the night- time sensitiv ity.
2.3.2 Disable Day / Night Switching
If day/night switc hing i s not desirable, the Disable day/night switchi ng box may be ticked to l eav e the
detector permanently in day mode.

2.4.1 Remote Functions (Remote Input subgroup)
These functions have no curr ent use on the FI REli nk - 25 but are reserved for future expansion pur pose s.
2.4.2 Programmed Isolate
When this func tion is ticked t he c ontroller will not generate alarms and will not indicate a faul t condition on
any fi r e panel whi c h is connected, e. g. f or use during detector maint enanc e. The “Fault” light will be
il luminated on the detector front panel . The isolated c ondi tion will be di sabl ed automati c ally af ter 7 days if
not m anually disabled. Thi s func tion is disabled by default.
2.4.3 Latching Alarms
When this func tion box is tick ed it requires a reset f rom the controlli ng c om puter to c lear an alarm
condition. If unticked, the alarm signal is extinguished as soon as the alarm condition ends. This is the
factory def ault setting.
2.4.4 Latching Faults
When this func tion box is tick ed it requires a reset f rom the controlli ng c om puter to c lear a fault condition.
If unticked, t he fault signal is extingui shed as soon as the fault condition ends. This is the factory default
setting.
2.4.5 Cascading Alarms
Ticking thi s funct ion box means that only when the detector ’s cont roller has gone into Pr e-Alarm does the
cont r oller start count ing down the m ain Fire delay i.e. the time delays on Pre-Al arm and Fire 1 are
cumul ative. The Aux alarm is not incl uded in the cumulative delay sinc e it may be set to a higher lev el
than either the Pr e-Alarm or Fir e 1 lev els. Thi s func tion is enabled by default.
