Use and Care Manual

Care Instructions
A few helpful tips from the pros at Home Botanicals! Be sure to remove the plants completely from
their boxes as soon as they arrive! Only water when the soil becomes completely dry. It is best to put
your finger in the soil to be sure it is completely dry before watering. Be sure your succulents are in
containers with excellent drainage. If the container does not drain be sure to use a spray bottle to
lightly mist the top of the soil. If you are re-potting your plants try to use a “Cactus Mix” type soil to
aid the plant in proper drainage. Succulents and Cacti need plenty of sun and warmth. Once they are
removed from their boxes you will want to get them into some indirect or filtered sun. Do not put
plants just out of the box into direct sun. The plants need a week or so to re-acclimate. Keep an eye
on your plants and slowly re-introduce them to the sunshine they love! Many succulents and cacti can
handle full direct sun. Some cannot. You will want to watch your plants as you introduce more sun, to
be sure their leaves do not burn. If you see burn on the plant reduce the amount of direct sun and give
the plant time to heal. Succulents and cacti do not like cold weather. A good rule of thumb is to bring
them inside once the temp drops below 40 degrees.
