FEATURES KNOW YOUR BLOWER MOTOR See Figure 1. Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. The blower has a powerful 30cc engine with sufficient power to handle tough jobs. THROTTLE TRIGGER BLOWER TUBE AND NOZZLE The blower can be operated at any speed between idle and full throttle. The blower tube and nozzle can be assembled and installed on the blower using no tools.
ASSEMBLY WARNING: Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury. ASSEMBLING THE BLOWER TUBES NOZZLE See Figure 2. n Screw the nozzle onto the upper blower tube and tighten securely. Check tightness after initial run and retighten if needed. UPPER BLOWER TUBE KNOB Fig. 2 n Place clamp around the neck of the blower housing outlet.
OPERATION FILLING THE TANK WARNING: WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive. A fire or explosion from gasoline will burn you and others. Always stop the engine before filling the fuel tank. Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot engine. Move at least 30 ft. from the refueling area before starting engine.
OPERATION STARTING AND STOPPING THROTTLE TRIGGER See Figure 3. Starting the product differs depending on whether the engine is cold or warm. TO START A COLD ENGINE: PRIMER BULB n Place the blower on a flat, bare surface. n Make sure cruise control is locked in the IDLE position. Do not engage the throttle trigger or cruise control during the start-up process. n Push the primer bulb, slowly, 7 times. n Move the choke lever to the full choke position marked START.
OPERATION n Operate blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job. WIDE SWEEPER NOZZLE n Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes, and air filters. n Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. n In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces when water is available. n Conserve water by using power blowers instead of hoses for many lawn and garden applications, including areas such as gutters, screens, patios, grills, porches, and gardens.
MAINTENANCE REPLACING AND CLEANING THE AIR FILTER WARNING: See Figure 8. For proper performance and long life, keep the air filter clean. n Push down on the latch of the air filter cover; carefully pull the top of the air filter cover so it pivots away from the base. When servicing, use only identical Homelite replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: n Remove the air filter and clean it in warm soapy water. Rinse and let dry completely.
MAINTENANCE SPARK ARRESTOR The fuel cap contains a non-serviceable filter and a check valve. A clogged fuel filter will cause poor engine performance. If performance improves when the fuel cap is loosened, the check valve may be faulty or filter clogged. Replace the fuel cap if required. The muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor screen inside muffler body. After extended use the screen can become dirty and you may need to have the muffler replaced by an authorized servicing dealer.
TROUBLESHOOTING IF THESE SOLUTIONS DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM CONTACT YOUR AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEALER. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE Engine will not start 1. No spark. SOLUTION 1. Check spark.
