The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the information on the tool and in this operator’s manual as well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules.
ASSEMBLY UNPACKING WARNING: This product requires assembly. If any parts are damaged or missing, do not operate this tool until the parts are replaced. Failure to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury. Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
ASSEMBLY WARNING: Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury. NOZZLE ASSEMBLING THE BLOWER TUBES See Figure 3. Screw the nozzle onto the blower tube and tighten securely. Check tightness after initial run and retighten if needed. UPPER BLOWER TUBE KNOB Fig. 3 BAG ADAPTOR Place clamp around the neck of the blower housing outlet.
ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE VACUUM TUBES See Figures 6 - 7. To install the vacuum tubes: INLET COVER DOOR Screw the upper and lower vacuum tubes together and tighten securely. Loosen the door knob on the inlet cover door and open. Place the notch in the support arm of the upper vacuum tube under the hinge of the inlet cover door. Push the upper vacuum tube into the blower housing. Align the upper vacuum tube knob with the hole in the housing and tighten securely.
OPERATION FILLING THE TANK WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating this tool. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible serious injury. WARNING: Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive. A fire or explosion from gasoline will burn you and others.
OPERATION STARTING AND STOPPING See Figures 8 - 9. Starting the product differs depending on whether the engine is cold or warm. To start a cold engine: Set switch to ON. THROTTLE TRIGGER PRIMER BULB Push the primer bulb, slowly, 8 times. Set the choke lever to FULL. Squeeze throttle trigger fully (thru next 2 steps) and pull starter handle sharply (no more than 4 times). Set the choke lever to HALF. Pull the starter rope until the engine runs (no more than 6 times).
OPERATION � Operate blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job. � Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes, and air filters. WIDE SWEEPER NOZZLE � Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. � In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces when water is available. � Watch out for children, pets, open windows or freshly washed cars, and blow debris safely away.
OPERATION VACUUM OPERATION See Figure 13. Install the vacuum tubes and bag. Refer to Installing the Vacuum Bag and Installing the Vacuum Tubes. Start the blower. Refer to Starting and Stopping. � Place the leaf bag strap over your head and onto your left shoulder. Hold the upper handle in your right hand and the lower handle in your left hand. � Move the blower from side to side along outer edge of the debris. To avoid clogging, do not place the vacuum tube directly into the debris pile.
MAINTENANCE REPLACING AND CLEANING THE AIR FILTER WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. See Figure 14. For proper performance and long life, keep air filter clean. Loosen the knob on the air filter cover. Remove the cover. Remove the air filter and clean it in warm soapy water. Rinse and let dry completely.
MAINTENANCE SPARK ARRESTOR The muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor screen inside muffler body. After extended use the screen can become dirty and you may need to have the muffler replaced by an authorized servicing dealer. The fuel cap contains a non-serviceable filter and a check valve. A clogged fuel filter will cause poor engine performance. If performance improves when the fuel cap is loosened, the check valve may be faulty or filter clogged. Replace the fuel cap if required.
TROUBLESHOOTING IF THESE SOLUTIONS DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM CONTACT YOUR AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEALER. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION Engine will not start 1. No spark. 1. Check spark. Remove spark plug. Reattach the spark plug cap and lay spark plug on metal cylinder. Pull the rope and watch for spark at spark plug tip. If there is no spark, repeat test with a new spark plug. 2. No fuel. 2. Push primer bulb until bulb is full of fuel. If bulb does not fill, primary fuel delivery system is blocked.
