GENERAL SAFETY RULES WARNING: READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all instructions listed below, may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS Read the operator’s manual carefully. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and the proper use of the equipment. Know how to stop the unit and disengage the controls quickly. Do not operate cultivators in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES Do not use near underground electric cables, telephone lines, pipes, or hoses. If in doubt, contact your utility or telephone company to locate underground services. If the unit strikes a foreign object, stop the motor, disconnect the extension cord, thoroughly inspect the machine for any damage, and repair the damage before restarting and operating the machine. Do not overload the machine capacity by cultivating too deep in a single pass or at too fast a rate. Stay alert.

SYMBOLS SERVICE Servicing requires extreme care and knowledge and should be performed only by a qualified service technician. For service we suggest you return the product to your nearest AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER for repair. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. ELECTRICAL EXTENSION CORDS ELECTRICAL CONNECTION When using a cultivator at a considerable distance from the power source, use an extension cord heavy enough to carry the current that the tool will draw. An undersized extension cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in a loss of power and causing the motor to overheat. Use the chart provided below to determine the minimum wire size required in an extension cord. Only round jacketed cords listed by Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) should be used.

ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE FRONT HANDLE INSTALLING THE TINES See Figure 4. See Figure 7. n Position the front handle as shown. The cultivator has four tines —two inner tines stamped B and C, and two outer tines stamped A and D. For correct operation of the unit, the tines must be installed in the correct orientation. n Depress the buttons on the handle and insert into the frame. Press down on the handle until the button on the handle clicks into place.
OPERATION WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING: Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and other possible serious injuries. WARNING: Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this tool.
OPERATION n Remove the hitch pins from the holes on the ends of the tine shaft. n Remove the outside tine blades and felt washers from the tine shaft. n Place hitch pins in the holes that were uncovered when felt washers were removed. NOTE: The unit will not operate properly if the tines are installed incorrectly. If you notice a problem with the cultivating operation of the unit, check for proper tine positioning.
MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be repaired or replaced by the customer. All other parts should be replaced at an Authorized Service Center. STORING THE CULTIVATOR The following steps should be taken before storing the cultivator for the season. n Clean dirt, grass, and other materials from the entire unit.

UTILISATION Si la terre est très dure, arroser quelques jours avant de sarcler. Éviter de travailler la terre lorsqu’elle est mouillée ou détrempée. Attendre un jour ou deux après de fortes pluies pour laisser la terre sécher. SARCLAGE GÉNÉRAL Voir la figure 11. Le sarclage sur moins de 5 cm (2 po) de profondeur permet de perturber les mauvaises herbes et d’aérer le sol, sans abîmer les racines des plantes voisines.

ASPECTOS ELÉCTRICOS CORDONES DE EXTENSIÓN CONEXIÓN ELÉCTRICA Al utilizar una cultivadora eléctrica a una distancia considerable de la fuente de corriente, asegúrese de utilizar un cordón de extensión con la suficiente capacidad para soportar la corriente de consumo del producto.Un cordón de un calibre insuficiente causa una caída en el voltaje de línea, la cual a su vez produce recalentamiento y pérdida de potencia.
