Operation
‘FRICTION ADJUSTER
Must be raised to move the control lever into forward or reverse gears.
Adjusts the trim angle and operates tilt UP and DOWN.
Controls gear selection and throttle opening.
Indicates engine oil pressure and cooling system conditions.
Operates the throttle and choke when the control lever is in neutral.
For starting and stopping the outboard motor.
With the lanyard securely attached to the operator and if the operator is thrown
from his seat or out of the boat, the lanyard is pulled disengaging the stop switch
clip from the stop switch to stop the engine.
Adjusts the operating resistance of the control lever.
CHOKE RANGE
Start the engine with the control lever in
the NEUTRAL position. For cold starts,
the choke/fast idle lever should be fully
raised, then lowered slowly to avoid
stalling.
The choke/fast idle lever cannot be raised
unless the control lever is in the
NEUTRAL position, and the control lever
cannot be moved away from NEUTRAL
unless the choke/fast idle lever is
lowered.
With the choke/fast idle lever in the idle
position, lifting up the neutral release
lever enables the control lever to be
moved to the FORWARD or REVERSE
positions.
