Turn the fuel valve ON, loosen the carburetor drain screw, and drain the fuel

into an approved gasoline container. After draining tighten the drain screw

securely.

Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain

conditions. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area.

2. Change the engine oil (see page 40).

NOTE: If the riding mower will be stored for longer than 3 months, raise the

rear body and remove the spark plug and pour three tablespoons

(approximately 1 oz.) of clean motor oil into the cylinder.

Place the P.T.O. lever in the OFF position and the shift lever in the N posi-

tion. With the parking brake applied, lower the cutter deck to the bottom.

Reaching from the rear of the mower, grasp the primary belt at point A, and

slowly pull it toward you to turn the engine. Reinstall the spark plug.

CAUTION: Be sure to wear heavy gloves when pulling the’primary belt. If

the riding mower has been running, the engine will be very hot. Allow it to

cool before proceeding.
