TRIM TAB ADJUSTMENT
If steering effort is not equal in both
directions, adjust the trim tab to
compensate for β€˜β€˜torque steer,’’
which is the reaction of the outboard
motor to propeller rotation.
Adjust the trim tab with the engine
stopped. Remove the gear case
grommet (BFP60A models). Loosen
the bolt above the trim tab, turn the
trim tab, and then tighten the bolt
securely.
When the trim tab is correctly
adjusted, steering effort will be equal
in both directions.
