TRANSOM ANGLE
ADJUSTING ROD
NUT
The transom angle adjusting rod
limits the tilt angle of the outboard
motor when
fully
lowered.
Proper adjustment prevents the
outboard motor from being trimmed
too
low (p.
51
).
To
adjust, first tilt the outboard
motor
so
it is not resting on the rod.
Remove the nut, then remove the rod
and insert it in the desired position.
Reinstall the nut and tighten
it
securely.
Do
not allow water to enter the idle
exhaust port or the engine can
be
damaged.
