Fuel Pump Filter Inspection
and Replacement
The fuel pump filter (inside the
strainer cup) is located below the
engine oil filter.
Water or sediment accumulated in
the filter can cause loss
of power or
hard starting.
To prevent engine
malfunction, inspect the filter and
replace when necessary.
SERVICING YOUR OUTBOARD MOTOR
Gasoline is highly
flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or
seriously injured when
handling fuel.
Stop the engine and keep
heat, sparks, and flame
away.
Handle fuel only
outdoors.
Wipe up spills
immediately.
ENGINE COVER LATCH
1. Remove the engine cover.
