MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE OF THE ENGINE OIL FILTER
A clogged or blocked oil filter may cause damage to the engine. The oil filter must be maintained
regularly according to the quality of the oil used and theconditionsofuse of the generating set.
Cleaning
1. Drain the oil from the engine (see page 17).
2. Withdraw the filter element [1] from the engine by
removing the two 6 mm screws [2] and the closing
plate [3].
3. Wash the filter element in a non-flammable solvent and
leave to dry completely.
4. Replace the filter element, the closing plate and the two
6 mm screws.
5. Fully tighten the screws.
6. Fill up with the recommended oil (see page 9).
NOTE
: be careful not to damage the mesh of the filter element while servicing it. Replace it
with a new element if you observe holes or tears.
DRAINING THE FUEL TANK
The Diesel fuel contains water which deposits in the fuel
tank. It is important to drain it regularly to eliminate the
water, otherwise it will have an adverse effect on the
operation of the engine.
1. Loosen the water plug screw [4] by about 2 or 3 turns to
clear the water drainage orifice [5].
2. Drain the water and impurities until clean fuel starts
flowing.
3. Fully tighten the water plug screw.
CAUTION:
•
Do not unscrew the plug screw more than necessary to clear the orifice for this purpose at the
bottom of the fuel tank.
