Engine oil
Running the engine with insufficient oil
can cause serious engine damage.
Using nondetergent oil or 2-stroke engine oil will shorten the engine’s
service life.

Oil level without bl ock
under the rear wheels:
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE
Stop the engine and place the tiller on
the level ground with rear wheels and
tines.
Placea60mm(2.4in)thickblock
under the rear wheels as shown.
Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and
wipe the dipstick clean.
Insert the dipstick into the oil filler
neck, but do not screw it in.
If the oil level is low, fill up to the
upper limit mark with the
recommended oil.
Use 4-stroke motor oil that meets or
exceeds the requirements for API
service category SE or later (or
equivalent ). Alwa ys check th e API
service label on the oil container to be
sure it includes the letters SE or later (or
equivalent).
SAE 10W-30 is recommended for general use. Other viscosities shown
in the chart may be used when the average temperature in your area is
within the indicated range.
