TROUBLESHOOTING

Is the engine switch in the ON position (on the equipment side)?

Is there fuel in the fuel tank?

Is gasoline reaching the carburetor?

To check, press the priming pumpseveral times.

Is there a spark at the spark plug?

When the engine will not start:

If the engine still does not start, take the engine to an authorized

Honda dealer.

Remove the spark plug cap. Clean any dirt from around the

spark plug base, then remove the spark plug.

Install the spark plug in the plug cap.

Turn the engine switch ON (on the equipment side).

Grounding the side electrode to the cooling fin below the

spark plug hole, pull the recoil starter to see if sparks jump

across the gap.

If there is nospark, replace the plug.

If OK, reinstall the spark plug and try to start the engine again

according to the instructions.
