The key (if equipped) can only be inserted and removed when turned to OFF. OFF — Engine switch position to stop the engine. (The engine switch key can be removed/inserted with the switch in this position.) ON — Engine switch position while the engine is running. Each electric circuit comes on. (It produces a clicking sound with the switch set in this position.

The battery may become discharged when the light is ON while the engine is OFF. If the headlight does not come on, the battery might be faulty or the bulb might be blown. Check the battery.
