Overtightening the adapter can damage the threads.
If the garden hose is equipped with a shut off valve or nozzle, do not
shut off the discharge water for a long period of time, as that could
cause the pump to overheat.
Do not install the adapter on the pump suction port. Garden hose is
not suitable for use as suction hose, because it will restrict flow and
cause the pump to cavitate, damaging the pump.
