2 Remove Old Thermostat Remove old thermostat but leave wallplate with wires attached. If you have an older thermostat with a sealed mercury tube, turn to page 2 for proper disposal instructions. Do not remove wallplate yet Terminal designation C C 3 Label Wires with Tags MCR33823 Label the wires using the supplied wire labels as you disconnect them. Wire Labels C C MCR31537 Terminal designation 4 Separate Wallplate from New Thermostat Remove wallplate from the new thermostat and mount onto wall.
Mount Wallplate Mount the new wallplate using the included screws and anchors. W/ Aux Not Used M32714 Drill 3/16-in. holes for drywall Drill 3/32-in. holes for plaster 6 Connect Wires Simply match wire labels. If labels do not match letters on the thermostat, check “Alternate Wiring” on page 6 and connect to terminal as shown here (see notes, below). Alternate Wiring 4 B O G Y 4 W NOT R USED Rc M32734 If wires will be connected to both R and Rc terminals, remove metal jumper. Do not use C or X. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape. If you have a heat pump without auxiliary/backup heat connect O or B, not both. If you do not have a heat pump, do not connect B. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape. Place a jumper (piece of wire) between Y and W if you are using a heat pump without auxiliary/backup heat.
8 Set fan operation switch Move the switch to the proper setting: RTHXXXX Gas or Oil: For gas or oil heating systems, leave the fan operation switch in this factory-set position (for systems that control the fan in a call for heat). GAS OR OIL ELECTRIC OR HEAT PUMP Electric or Heat Pump: Change the switch to this setting for heat pump or electric heat systems. (This setting is for systems that allow the thermostat to control the fan in a call for heat, if a fan wire is connected to the G terminal.

NOTE: If you do not press any button for 60 seconds while you are in the setup menu, the thermostat automatically saves any changes made and exits the menu. Function Description Press the s or t button to Setting 5 select your heating system and optimize its operation 5 Gas or oil furnace: Use this setting if you have a standard gas or oil furnace that is less than 90% efficient. 6 Electric furnace: Use this setting if you have any type of electric heating system.
Thermostat controls Temperature adjustment Press the up or down buttons until you reach the desired temperature. Set: Press to set time/day/ schedule. Set Hold: Press to override programmed temperature control. Hold Run Run: Press to resume program schedule. Fan Fan Auto On Heat Off Cool Heat Off Cool Auto On M33612 System Switch is used to control your heating or cooling system. • Heat: Heating system control. • Off: All systems off. • Cool: Cooling system control.
Set the time and day 1. Press the SET button, then press s or t to set the clock time. 2. Press the SET button, then press s or t to select the day of the week. 3. Press RUN to save & exit. Set Time 6:30 Set Hold am Run M33787 NOTE: If the clock flashes, the thermostat will follow your settings for the Monday “Wake” time period until you reset the time and day.
To adjust program schedules (RTH2300) 1. Press SET until Set Schedule is displayed. 2. Press s or t to set your weekday Wake time (Mo-Fr), then press SET. 3. Press s or t to set the temperature for this time period, then press SET. 4. Set time and temperature for the next time period (Leave). Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each weekday time period. 5. Press SET to set weekend time periods (Sa & Su), then press RUN to save & exit.
Program schedule override (temporary) Press s or t to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time period. 6:30 Set Hold Temporary am 70 Set Run “Temporary” will appear on the display and the current program period will flash. M33796 The new temperature will be maintained only until the next programmed time period begins (see page 11). 6:30 Set Hold am 75 Set Run To cancel the temporary setting at any time, press RUN.
Built-in compressor protection This feature helps prevent damage to the compressor in your air conditioning or heat pump system. 6:30 Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait 5 minutes before restarting. We Wake am 75 Cool On During the wait time, the display will flash the message Cool On (or Heat On if you have a heat pump). When the safe wait time has elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on.
Battery replacement Pull at bottom to remove thermostat from wallplate. Install two fresh AAA batteries when Lo Batt flashes on the screen. Lo Batt appears for 60 days before the batteries are depleted. UP Replace batteries once a year, or when you will be away for more than a month. W Most settings are stored in nonvolatile (permanent) memory. Only the clock and the day must be set after you replace the batteries. Set the System switch to Off before removing the batteries.
Troubleshooting If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily. Display is blank • Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Heating or cooling system does not respond • Set system switch to Heat. Make sure the temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature. Set system switch to Cool. Make sure the temperature is set lower than the Inside temperature. Wait 5 minutes for the system to respond.
1-year limited warranty Resideo warrants this product, excluding battery, to be free from defects in workmanship or materials, under normal use and service, for a period of one (1) year from the date of first purchase by the original purchaser. If at any time during the warranty period the product is determined to be defective due to workmanship or materials, Resideo shall repair or replace it (at Resideo’s option).

2 Remueva su viejo termostato Retire el termostato existente pero deje la placa de montaje con los cables adheridos. Si el termostato existente tiene un tubo de mercurio No retirar la placa sellado, vaya a la página 2 para obtener instrucciones mural todavía sobre cómo desecharlo adecuadamente. Conexión alternativa 4 4 No Conecte B O G Y W NOT R USED Rc MS32734 Si los cables se conectarán a los terminales R y Rc, retire el puente metálico. No utilice C o X. Envuelva los extremos pelados del cable con cinta aislante. Si tiene una bomba de calor sin calefacción auxiliar/de reserva conecte O o B, no ambos. Si no tiene una bomba de calor, no conecte B. Envuelva los extremos pelados del cable con cinta aislante.
8 Configure el interruptor de funcionamiento del ventilador RTHXXXX Mueva el interruptor a la configuración adecuada: GAS OR OIL ELECTRIC OR HEAT PUMP Gas o aceite: para los sistemas de calefacción de gas o aceite, deje el interruptor del ventilador en esta posición configurada de fábrica (para sistemas que controlan el ventilador en una orden de calefacción).

Si su tipo de sistema es: q Bomba de calor q Sistema de calefacción eléctrico q Sistema de calefacción de alto rendimiento q Sistema de vapor a gas/aceite q Sistema de de gravedad q Sistema de calefacción de agua caliente Continúe con la instalación avanzada para adaptar el termostato a su tipo de sistema.
NOTA: si no se presiona ningún botón durante 60 segundos mientras esté abierto el menú de configuración, el termostato salvaguarda los cambios automáticamente y sale del menú. Función 5 Descripción Presione el botón s o t para Configuración 5 Sistema de calefacción de gas o aceite: utilice esta configuración elegir su sistema de si tiene un sistema de calefacción estándar de gas o aceite cuyo calefacción y optimizar rendimiento sea inferior al 90%.
Controles del termostato Set (configuración): Presione este botón para configurar la hora, el día o el cronograma. Hold (suspender): Presiónelo para anular el control de temperatura programada. Ajuste de la temperatura Presione los botones de desplazamiento hacia arriba o hacia abajo hasta que llegue a la temperatura deseada. Set Hold Run Run (restablecer): Presione para volver al cronograma del programa.
Configuración de la hora y el día 1. Presione el botón “SET”, luego presione s o t para configurar la hora del reloj. 2. Presione el botón “SET”, luego presione s o t para seleccionar el día de la semana. 3. Presione “RUN” para guardar y salir. NOTA: Si el reloj destella, el termostato seguirá sus configuraciones para el período “Wake” (despertar) del lunes hasta que vuelva a configurar la hora y el día.
Para ajustar los cronogramas del programa (RTH2300) 1. Presione SET (configurar) hasta que Set Schedule (configurar el cronograma) se muestre en la pantalla. Set 2. Presione s o t para configurar la Hold hora para despertarse para el día Mo Tu We Th Fr Run Wake que se muestra y luego presione Set Schedule SET. 3. Presione s o t para configurar la temperatura para este período y luego presione SET. 4. Configure la hora y la temperatura para el próximo período (Leave).
Programación de la anulación del cronograma (temporal) Presione s o t para ajustar inmediatamente la temperatura. Esto anulará temporalmente la configuración de la temperatura para el período actual. Set Hold 6:30 Temporary am 70 Set Run M33796 La palabra “Temporary” (temporalmente) aparecerá en la pantalla y el período del programa actual destellará. Set Hold La nueva temperatura se mantendrá solamente hasta que comience el próximo período programado (vea la página 11).
Protección del compresor incorporada Esta función ayuda a prevenir el daño del compresor en su acondicionador de aire o en su sistema de bomba de calor. 6:30 am We El compresor puede dañarse si se vuelve a iniciar inmediatamente después de ser apagado. Esta característica hace que el compresor demore unos minutos antes de volver a iniciarse. 75 Cool On Wake M32711 Durante el tiempo de espera, la pantalla mostrará el mensaje “Cool On” (o “Heat On” si tiene una bomba de calor).
Reemplazo de la batería Instale dos pilas AAA nuevas cuando Lo Batt parpadee en la pantalla. El icono aparecerá 60 días antes de que las pilas estén completamente descargadas. Hale de la parte inferior para quitar el termostato de la placa para pared. Reemplace las pilas una vez por año o luego de una ausencia de más de un mes. UP La mayor parte de los datos de la configuración están almacenados en la memoria no volátil (permanente).
Localización y solución de problemas Si tiene dificultades con el termostato, intente seguir las sugerencias que se indican a continuación. La mayoría de los problemas pueden corregirse rápida y fácilmente. La pantalla está vacía • Asegúrese de que las baterías AAA alcalinas estén instaladas correctamente. El sistema de calefacción o refrigeración no responde • Mueva el interruptor “System” hasta la posición “Heat.” Asegúrese de que la temperatura sea más alta que la temperatura interna.
