3. Plug the connector into the DC power jack on the back panel. The HomeBase is now powered.
When a terminal is properly seated in the terminal well, the HomeBase powers the terminal, charges the
terminal’s main battery pack, and launches ActiveSync (see ActiveSync Communication on page 3-18).
Honeywell recommends that you leave the HomeBase connected to its power source at all times, so that
it is always ready to use.
Charging the Main Battery
The HomeBase powers the terminal and fully charges its main battery
pack in less than four hours.
As battery packs charge, the charging circuitry follows the two-step
charging process (CC-CV) that is recommended for Li-Ion batteries.
The process monitors changes in temperature, current, and voltage.
Inserting a Terminal
1. Install the battery pack in the terminal; see Install the Main Battery
on page 2-1.
2. Power the Dolphin HomeBase device; see Powering the
HomeBase Device on page 10-3.
3. Slide the terminal into the terminal well until the Dock LED lights
green to indicate that the terminal is properly seated.
4. The battery pack begins charging.
Checking Battery Power
To check battery power while the terminal is operating,
tap Start > Settings > System tab > Power .
