3 Remove manual spring handle retaining clip and lift

and release the handle. See Fig. 3. The easiest way

to perform this operation safely is to:

a. Remove the retaining clip (shipping stop).

b. Wedge a small, flat-bladed screwdriver under

the manual spring handle at the point marked

in Fig. 3 and pry up the handle.

CAUTION

The manual spring handle is under tension and

could turn quickly when lifted resulting in injury to

fingers pinched between the handle and plastic

casing. Maintain handle orientation while lifting and

remove fingers quickly when releasing.

4 a. ML6425A/ML7425A:

After the handle is released, valve stem will be

fully extended. Turn handle fully counterclock-

wise until valve stem is fully retracted (up).

Secure the manual spring handle in valve

stem-up position by pushing down handle and

installing key in grove. See Figure 4.

b. ML6425B/ML7425B:

After the handle is released, the handle turns

automatically to the valve stem fully retracted

(up) position.

5 Secure potentiometer, terminal label, and terminal

block with Phillips head screwdriver. See Fig. 5.

6 Route potentiometer wires to terminal block and

connect to terminals using a flat bladed screwdriver.

See Fig. 5, 6, and 7.

G ML6425A/ML7425A only:

Wedge a small, flat-bladed screwdriver under the

manual spring handle at the point marked in Fig. 3

and pry up the handle. The manual spring handle

will turn quickly, operating the valve stem to the fully

extended position.
