SAFETY INFORMATION Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product. • Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers. • Make sure that all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code, and ANSI/NFPA 70-199. Hire a qualified electrician or consult a do-it-yourself wiring handbook if you are unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.
MOUNTING OPTIONS ! DANGER Fig. 1 ! Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death. 1. Your fan has 3 mounting options: • Standard (Fig. 1) • Angled (Fig. 2) • Closemount (Fig. 3) Note: The fans in figures 1 through 3 are not the actual fan in your package, they are representation of the 3 different mounting options. MOUNTING BRACKET INSTALLATION 4. Remove the two mounting bracket screws and washers from the round holes in the canopy and loosen the other two screws. Set aside for later use. Secure the mounting bracket to the outlet box using screws and washers provided with the outlet box (not included) (Fig. 5). Fig.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 6. Partially loosen the motor housing set screws in the yoke at the top of the motor housing (Fig. 6). Fig. 6 Set Screw 7. Thread the wires from the motor assembly through the yoke cover, canopy and out the top of the downrod (Fig. 8).
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 9. Slide the downrod into the yoke of the motor assembly, align the holes, and re-install the downrod pin and downrod clip. Depending on the length of downrod you use, you may need to cut the lead wires back to simplify the wiring.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 12. Install the ball end of the downrod into the mounting bracket opening. Align the slot in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket. The rod should not rotate if installed correctly (Fig. 12). Fig. 12 Mounting Bracket Downrod Ball 13. Insert the receiver into the mounting bracket with the flat side toward the ceiling (Fig. 13). CLOSEMOUNT INSTRUCTIONS 14. Remove the canopy cover from the bottom of the canopy (Fig. 14). Fig. 14 Helpful Hint: Closemount mounting is more suitable for ceilings lower than 8 ft. (2,44 m) high. The downrod, hanging ball, and canopy cover are not used in this type of installation. Canopy Cover 15. Align the canopy with the closemount screw holes in the top of the motor assembly.

CANOPY INSTALLATION 18. Lift the canopy up so the partially installed mounting bracket screws are situated in the L-slots on each side of the canopy. Rotate the canopy clockwise and install the remaining mounting bracket screws and washers removed in Step 4 (Fig. 18). Fig.
BLADE INSTALLATION 20. Partially insert three blade screws along with three blade washers through one blade and into one blade arm. Tighten each blade screw with a Phillips screwdriver, starting with the one in the middle. Repeat this step for the remaining blades and blade arms (Fig. 20). LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 21. Remove two of the four fitter plate screws located on the underside of the motor assembly and loosen the other two screws. Align the two key slots of the light kit with the loosened fitter plate screws. Rotate the light kit clockwise until the screw heads engage the key slots. Replace previously removed fitter plate screws, then tighten all screws (Fig. 21). Fig. 21 Fitter Plate Screw Light Kit 22. Remove the four switch housing cover screws preassembled to the switch housing.
LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 24. Connect the two 4-pin connectors and two 9-pin connectors from the switch housing. Insert the connectors into the switch housing. Then, install the switch housing cover to the switch housing using the switch housing cover screws that were previously removed (Fig. 24). Fig. 25 Important: When replacing the bulb, allow bulb and light kit to cool before touching.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 27. Use the fan reverse switch, located on the side of the light kit, to optimize your fan for seasonal performance (Fig. 27). Fig. 27 Using a ceiling fan will allow you to raise your thermostat in the summer and lower your thermostat in the winter without sacrificing comfort. Important: Wait for the fan to stop before moving the reverse switch. The reverse switch must be set either completely left or right in order for the fan to function correctly.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 30. Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote (Fig. 30). After removing the protective plastic, insert the battery. Replace the battery cover. Fig. 30 D/CFL Switch: Located inside the battery compartment of the remote, this switch should be moved to either “D” for dimmer or “CFL” for compact fluorescent bulbs depending on which type of bulbs you’ve installed in the fan. Note: The switch is pre-set to “CFL”.

TROUBLESHOOTING At least twice each year, lower the canopy to check the downrod assembly, and then tighten all screws on the fan. Clean the motor housing with only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish. Clean the blades with a lint-free cloth. You may occasionally apply a light coat of furniture polish to wood blades for added protection. Important: Shut off the main power supply before you begin any maintenance tasks. Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the ceiling fan.
