STEP 1 ENTER THE DAY AND TIME 0 Press and release. The display shows 1:00 PM Mon. SET PRESENT DAY/TIME You can program this thermostai either on the wall or in your hand. SEE PAGE 27 TO FIND OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT FROM THE WALL Press and hold until the current day appears in the display. pii-] TIME Always press the keys with your fingertip or similar blunt tool. Sharp instruments like a pen or pencil point can damage the keyboard.

ml 00 Press and hold until the display shows the desired heating temperature. - If the display flashes while you are holding down TEMPERATURE WARMER or COOLER, you have reached the setting limit. If your thermostat can switch automatically between heating and cooling, the heating temperature must be at least 3 degrees below the air conditioning temperature. For example, if the cooling setting is 75’ F, the maximum heating setting is 72” F.

Program the EVENING time and temperature, if desired. Press and release. The display shows EVENING, but no time or temperature. Press and hold until the display shows the time you want the temperature to be at the comfort setting. Press and hold until the display shows the desired heating temperature. 5 Program the NIGHT time and temperature, if desired. Press and release. The display shows NIGHT and the preprogrammed time and temperature.

Set the cooling temperatures for all the periods you’ve programmed. Press and release. The display shows COOL, the preprogrammed cooling temperature and the programmed start time for NIGHT. 7 Press and hold until the display shows the desired cooling temperature for NIGHT. If the display blinks while you are holding down TEMPERATURE WARMER or COOLER, you have reached the setting limit.

STEP 3 COPY THE PROGRAM TO THE DESIRED DAYS You can copy one day’s program to any other day or combination of days. The new program will replace any program already set in the day selected. If necessary, press and release to enter the programming mode. Press and hold until the day containing the program to be copied shows in the display. Press and release. The day to be copied will show, and the next day will flash, in the display.

STEP 4 SET THE SCHEDULES AND TEMPERATURES FOR THE REMAINING DAYS Use the procedures described in Steps 2 and 3 and summarized in this step to program the remaining days. Press and release to enter the programming mode. Press and hold until the day you wish to program shows on the display. If COOL shows on the display, press and release to switch to HEAT. Use the AHEAD/BACK keys to set the time and the WARMER/COOLER keys to set the heating temperature.

You have completed the time and temperature program for another day. Now you can copy it into additional days if you wish. l ’ -a I!H Press and release to enter the copy mode. The next day flashes on the display. l 0 H Press and release the Copy To key to select the day that’s flashing, or the Day key to bypass it. ,’ H Continue, using the Copy To key to bring up the next day, followed by Copy To to select, or Day to bypass the day, until all desired days are selected.

TEMPORARILY CHANGING THE PROGRAM These features let you customtailor the program for those times when someone comes home early, or you or a colleague is working late, or you plan to be out for the evening. Changes made with these keys are active for one program period and then are cancelled. Press and release. The name of the period to be skipped will flash in the display until the start time of the skipped period.

I PERMANENTLY CHANGING THE PROGRAM Press and hold until the desired time period shows on the display. If your schedule changes or you want a different temperature, you can update any setting without affecting the rest of the program. Press and hold until the desired schedule day shows on the display. Press and hold the Time or Temperature keys until the display shows the desired new program. 21 - S You can copy the new program into other days if you wish.

OPERATING THE THERMOSTAT MANUALLY Press and release. This feature is particularly useful when you go on vacation or other extended absence. It does not cancel your program. Press and hold to change the temperature setting. After a few seconds the display will show the current temperature. Press and release to check the temperature setting. CHECKING THE PROGRAM TIMES AND TEMPERATURES Press and hold until the desired period shows on the display. The start time and temperature setting will appear on the display. You can check all the stored settings without affecting the permanent program. Press and release to display the next day’s time and temperature for that period. IPREAI Press and release to return to normal operation.

REMOVING THE THERMOSTAT 1 Loosen the two captive screws at the bottom cornerg of the case. 2 Pull the thermostat out from the bottom. 3 Lift the thermostat up and off the base. 27 REPLACING THE THERMOSTAT 1 Hang the thermostat on the tabs at the top of the base. 2 Swing down and press on lower edge until thermostat snaps in place. 3 Tighten the captive screws.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES Your thermostat uses three AAA alkaline batteries. The display will flash “REPL BAT” when the batteries get low. Unless the display is blank (indicating the batteries are dead) when you start, you won’t have to reprogram the thermostat if you can insert the new batteries within 20-30 seconds of taking out the old ones. To replace: n Set the system switch to OFF. n Remove the thermostat from the wall. See page 27. n Lift the batteries out of the holder.

AUX HT light (heat pump models only) - This light glows whenever the thermostat is callina for ooeration of the backup fieater.’ Backup (auxiliary) heat is more expensive to operate than the heat pump and typically is used only when the heat pump is unable to handle the load. C$Klight (heat pump models Consult your heat pump equipment literature to determine whether this light is used and its meaning. Comfort temperature The temperature you want when you’re active and occupying the building.

You can use the table below to plan your schedule before you begin programming. If you choose not to program a daytime energy savings program, leave the MIDDAY and EVENING periods blank. After you have written in your schedule, mark the days that have identical programs.

IF. . . Display will not come on. THEN. . . a Check that heat or cool system power is on. If you use batteries, replace with fresh ones. n Make sure thermostat is correctly mounted on base. Display flashes during programming. a YOU have reached the temperature setting limit The setting range is 45°F to 88°F. In models with automatic heat-cool changeover, the COOL temperature setting must be at least 3°F above the HEAT temperature setting. . Programming has been lost because of a power outage.
