F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Applications with a Humidifier Choose Location An evaporative humidifier can be mounted upstream from the air cleaner. An atomizing humidifier should be mounted downstream from the air cleaner, even though hard water salts will be blown into the living space and deposited as dust. If an atomizing humidifier must be mounted upstream from the air cleaner: 1. Mount it as far as possible upstream from the air cleaner. 2.

Determine Duct Design Requirements The air cleaner is adaptable to all new or existing forced air heating, cooling and ventilating systems used in residential applications. Transitions, turning vanes, or offsets may be needed in some applications for effective operation. CHANGE DUCT SIZE GRADUALLY TO MINIMIZE TURBULENCE. 20 DEGREE EXPANSION PER SIDE PER FITTING (4 in.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Offsets If the duct connection to the furnace in a side installation allows less than 7 in. (178 mm) for mounting the air cleaner cabinet, add an offset to the elbow. See Fig. 5. TYPICAL USE OF DUCT OFFSET TO ALLOW SPACE FOR ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER. Clean Blower Compartment Remove and discard the existing furnace filter. Thoroughly clean the blower compartment.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Install Turning Vanes Mount turning vanes inside the elbow or angle fitting that is directly against the air cleaner cabinet. See Fig. 7. Fasten Cabinet To Ductwork DOWNSTREAM AIRFLOW Install a transition when the opening in the air cleaner cabinet and the duct are different sizes. See Fig. 4. Fasten the other side of the cabinet to the elbow using sheet metal screws, rivets, or slip joints as appropriate.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Reassemble Air Cleaner • Assure all wiring complies with local codes and ordinances. • The line voltage power source must match the voltage and frequency printed on the label inside the access door. • When the System fan comes on, the Air Flow Switch (AFS) senses the negative pressure in the duct and turns on the power supply.

See Fig. 11. In the power box, remove and retain two wire nuts that connect the line cord leads to the power box wiring. Remove the power cord green lead from the green grounding screw on the wiring compartment barrier. Remove the power cord and the strain relief.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Check Air Cleaner Operation With all components in place, turn on air cleaner switch and energize system blower. Check following points of operation: 1. The neon light next to the On-Off switch is on. The neon light shows that the air cleaner is energized and the high voltage power supply is working correctly. If a W8600F is part of the installation, also check the wall panel and make sure the On indicator is lit.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER 1. Put the cells on the lower rack of the dishwasher with the airflow arrow pointing up. It may be necessary to remove the upper rack. Do not block water flow to the upper arm. Washing Cells in a Container CAUTION NOTE: Lay a few large water glasses between the spikes on the lower rack and rest the cell(s) on them so the spikes do not damage the aluminum collector blades. 2. 3. 4.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER Washing Cells at the Car Wash Replacing Ionizer Wires Use the hand sprayer at a coin-operated do-it-yourself car wash to clean the cells. Hold the nozzle at least two feet away from the unit to avoid damage (such as broken ionizer wires or bent collector plates) from the high pressure stream of water. See Fig. 14. Follow the same sequence of wash and rinse as recommended for cars. However, do not wax the cells.
F300 ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER The electronic air cleaner generates a small amount of ozone in normal operation. During the first week or two of operation, the amount may be higher because of sharp edges on some of the new high voltage metal parts. Normal use quickly dulls these edges. Si c’est possible, passer l’aspirateur dans le système de gaines pour éliminer la poussière accumulée dans une maison déjà construite ou la saleté due à la construction dans une maison neuve.

FILTRE À AIR ÉLECTRONIQUE F300 Réassembler le filtre à air Insérer la cellule électronique de façon que le panneau de contacts gris soit orienté vers le haut et que la flèche indiquant le sens d’écoulement d’air pointe vers l’aval. Si la cellule ne glisse pas facilement dans le boîtier, vérifier l’orientation de la clavette de la cellule. Insérer le préfiltre en mailles métalliques du côté amont du boîtier dans le guide fourni.

Relier le fil conducteur par l’ouverture défonçable sur le côté du bloc d’alimentation. Raccorder le filtre à air directement au fil tension secteur à l’aide des capuchons. Voir la Fig. 12. Replacer le fil de mise à la terre sur la vis de mise à la terre verte dans le compartiment de câblage.

Prendre un chiffon propre et, avec le pouce et l’index, essuyer les fils ionisants et le panneau de contacts à l’extrémité de la cellule. Vérifier le lave-vaisselle.

Les cellules peuvent être utilisées s’il manque un fil, mais il faudrait voir à remplacer ce fil le plus rapidement possible. Des fils de rechange sont offerts séparément; ils sont coupés à la bonne longueur et munis d’œillets aux deux extrémités qui facilitent leur installation. Le filtre à air électronique produit de 0,005 à 0,010 ppm d’ozone à l’intérieur. La U.S. Food and Drug Administration et Santé et bien-être social Canada recommandent que la concentration d’ozone à l’intérieur ne dépasse pas 0,050 ppm. À titre indicatif, la concentration d’ozone dans la plupart des grandes villes atteint parfois 0,100 ppm.
