TrueCLEAN: How It Works
A TrueCLEAN system cleans the air in your home using advanced 3-step filtration technology — a unique three-step process.
Advanced 3-step filtration technology: Charge. Capture. Destroy. That’s the basis of the three-step process that TrueCLEAN uses to treat all the air flowing through the system.
Step 1: Charge
Particles enter the TrueCLEAN system through ionizing
points and become electrically charged.
Step 2: Capture
Next, particles travel into the media filter, where they are
captured in the fibers. But TrueCLEAN applies a continuous
charge, so dirt is loaded 360 degrees around the filter
fibers — not just on the face. This captures more particles
than a standard media filter and helps the filter last longer.
Efficiency actually increases as the filter gets dirty.
Step 3: Destroy
Once particles are captured, the charging strips continue
working to destroy microorganisms inside the filter instead
of letting them grow — trapping and deactivating more
than 99%.***

As air is moving through your heating and cooling system, Honeywell TrueCLEAN deactivates 99%*** of captured particles
like airborne dust, pollen, smoke, mold spores and other bacteria — making it dramatically more effective than single-room
portable units, standard one-inch furnace filters, and practically all other whole-house air cleaning systems.
***ASHRAE 52.2 test of 3.0 to 10.0 micron particles performed at 492 FPM. 99% deactivation rate of captured particles passing through the system only when air cleaner is powered and system fan is running. Testing performed at third
party labs on certain virus and bacteria applied to filter disks and then exposed to an electric field. Tested virus show a reduction of virus numbers of greater than 99% by 8 hours of exposure. Tested bacteria show a reduction of bacteria
numbers of greater than 99% by 24 hours. Organisms tested: human and avian influenza virus, human cold virus surrogate, and others. Test available upon request.
