BEFORE USING THIS

AIR PURIFIER

When using electrical appliances, basic

precautions should always be followed to

reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and

injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before operating the air

purifier.

2. Place air purifier where it is not easily knocked

over by persons in the household.

3. Always turn the air purifier controls to the OFF

position and unplug from the wall outlet when

not in use.

4. To disconnect the model HHT-085 air purifiers,

first turn the control to the OFF position, grip

the plug and pull it from the wall outlet.

Never pull by the cord.

5. Do not use any product with a damaged cord

or plug or if product malfunctions,

is dropped

or damaged in any manner. Keep the cord

away from heated surfaces.

6. Do not use air purifier outdoors.

7. Never use air purifier unless it is

fully assembled.

8. Do not run power cord under carpets,

and do

not cover with throw rugs. Arrange cord such

that it will not be tripped over.

9. Do not use air cleaner where combustible

gases or va

pors are present.

10. Do not expose the air purifier to rain, or use

near water, in a bathroom,

laundry area or

other damp location.

11. The air purifier must be used in its upright

position.

12. Do not allow foreign objects to enter ventilation

or exhaust opening as this may cause electric

shock or dama

ge to the air purifier. Do not

block air outlets or intakes.

13. Locate air purifier near the outlet and avoid

using an extension cord.

14. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade

is wider than the other).

To reduce the risk of

shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way

in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit

fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still

does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.

15. A loose fit between the

AC outlet (receptacle)

and plug may cause overheating and a

distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified

electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.

16. Do not sit, stand or place heavy objects on the

air purifier

17. Disconnect power supply before servicing.

HHT-085-HD OM.qxd 3/3/10 12:19 PM Page 3 INSTALL HEPA-TYPE FILTERS The HEPA-Type Filters are supplied within the air purifier. They are wrapped to ensure purity. Fig. 2 • Turn-off and unplug the air purifier. While pressing on the notches along the rear grille, pull the grille towards you and remove it (See Fig. 2). Gently push along the edge of the filter frame and pull forward. Repeat for the second filter. • Remove protective wrap from the filters.

HHT-085-HD OM.qxd 3/3/10 12:19 PM Page 4 ELECTRONIC FILTER CLEAN REMINDER This model air purifier has an electronic filter check to remind you when to check and replace the HEPA-Type filters based on the air cleaner’s hours of use. Fig. 5 Will illuminate when it is time to clean HEPA filters When the HEPA-Type filters need to be replaced, the light will remain on until it is RESET. You may unplug the air cleaner without interrupting the filter check.

HHT-085-HD OM.qxd 3/3/10 12:19 PM Page 5 FREQUENTLY CLEANING AND ASKED STORAGE QUESTIONS We recommend that you clean the air purifier at least once every 3 month and before extended storage. Use only a dry cloth to wipe the external surfaces of the air purifier. DO NOT USE WATER, WAX POLISH, OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION. If your Air Purifier will not be used for more than 30 days, we recommend: • Remove the HEPA-Type Filters from the unit. • Wrap the HEPA-Type Filters in an air tight plastic bag.

This 5 year limited warranty applies to repair or replacement of product found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from commercial, abusive, unreasonable use or supplemental damage. Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be considered manufacturing defects under this warranty.

Ils ont été enveloppés pour préserver leur pureté. • Mettre le purificateur d’air hors tension et le débrancher. Tout en appuyant sur les deux encoches le long de la grille arrière, tirer la grille vers soi pour la retirer (Fig. 2). Pousser légèrement sur le bord du cadre du filtre et tirer vers l’avant.

HHT-085-HD OM.qxd 3/3/10 12:19 PM Page 10 AIDE-MÉMOIRE ÉLECTRONIQUE POUR LE CHANGEMENT DES FILTRES Lorsque le voyant témoin du filtre reste allumé, il est temps de remplacer les filtres de type HEPA et de réinitialiser le témoin. L’appareil étant en marche, insérez la pointe d'un stylo à bille ou d'un trombone à côté du voyant témoin et maintenez enfoncé pendant environ 5 secondes jusqu’à ce que le voyant s’éteigne.

Fig. 2 • Apague y desenchufe el purificador de aire. Presione las dos muescas en la rejilla posterior y seguidamente tire la rejilla hacia usted para retirarla (ver Fig. 2a y 2b). Presione ligeramente a lo largo del marco del filtro y retírelo. Repita el procedimiento con el segundo filtro.

HHT-085-HD OM.qxd 3/3/10 12:19 PM Page 16 MONITOR ELECTRÓNICO DE VERIFICACIÓN DEL FILTRO Este modelo de purificador de aire cuenta con un verificador electrónico del filtro basado en las horas de uso del purificador de aire para recordarle cuando revisar y cambiar los filtros tipo HEPA. Fig. 5 La luz iluminada indica que se debe cambiar los filtros HEPA. Cuando los filtros tipo HEPA necesiten ser reemplazados, la luz permanecerá encendida hasta que se REINICIE.

Use solo un paño seco para limpiar las superficies exteriores del purificador de aire. NO USE AGUA, CERA NI PRODUCTOS QUÍMICOS. Si su purificador de aire no va a ser utilizado por más de 30 días, recomendamos lo siguiente: • Retire los filtros tipo HEPA del aparato.
