RTH2510/RTH2410 This thermostat is ready to go! Your new thermostat is pre-programmed and ready to go. All you have to do is set the time and day. Then check the settings below and change if needed: 1. Set time and day (required for proper operation)...............................See page 6 2. Operating Manual Select the fan setting Set the FAN switch to Auto or On. In “Auto” mode (the most commonly used setting), the fan runs only when the heating or cooling system is on. Set Hold If set to “On,” the fan runs continuously. Run Heat Off Cool Heat Off Cool Fan Fan Auto On Auto On M33612 Set FAN switch to choose whether the fan runs continuously or only as needed.
RTH2510/RTH2410 Save money by setting program schedules It’s easy to program your system for maximum energy savings. You can program four time periods each day, with different settings for weekdays and weekends. WAKE 6:00 am 70 ° LEAVE 8:00 am 62 ° RETURN 6:00 pm 70 ° SLEEP 10:00 pm 62 ° Set to the time you awaken and the temperature you want during the morning, until you leave for the day.

We recommend these settings, since they can reduce your heating/cooling expenses. (See next page to adjust times and temperatures of each time period.
RTH2510/RTH2410 To adjust program schedules (RTH2510) Press SET 3 times, then adjust time. 1. Press SET until Set Schedule is displayed. 2. Set Hold 6:30 Temporary am 70 Set Run M33602 Press to cancel temporary setting and resume program schedule. Set Hold Run 6:30 am 75 Set M33603 Press s or t to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time period. “Temporary” will appear on the display.

This will override the temperature settings for all time periods.
RTH2510/RTH2410 About your Built-in compressor new thermostat protection 6:30 We Wake am This feature helps prevent damage to the compressor in your air conditioning or heat pump system. 75 Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait 5 minutes before restarting. Cool On M32711 Message flashes until safe restart time has elapsed.
Operating Manual AboutStart Early your new thermostat Early Start: This feature allows the heating or 6:30 We Wake am 75 Cool On M32712 cooling to turn on before the program start time, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6. The next time period is displayed when the system is activated before a scheduled time period.
RTH2510/RTH2410 Change Filter Change Filter – Press & Hold Run to Reset Set Hold Run 6:30 am 75 Set M33632 If the filter reminder is turned on during installation, the words Change Filter will flash on the screen when the filter needs to be replaced. After you replace the air filter, press and hold the RUN button for 3 seconds to reset the alert.
Operating Manual About your Battery replacement new thermostat Install two fresh AAA batteries when Lo Batt flashes on the screen. Lo Batt appears for 60 days before the batteries are depleted. Pull at bottom to remove thermostat from wallplate. W/ Aux Turn thermostat over, insert fresh AAA alkaline batteries, then reinstall thermostat. Not Used Replace batteries once a year, or when you will be away for more than a month.

Operating Manual In case of difficulty If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily. Display is blank • Make sure furnace door is closed securely. • Make sure fresh AAA alkaline batteries are correctly installed (see page 18). Heating or cooling system does not respond • Set system switch to Heat (see page 7). Make sure the temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature.
RTH2510/RTH2410 In case of difficulty Temperature settings do not change Make sure heating and cooling temperatures are set to acceptable ranges: • Heat: 40° to 90°F (4.5° to 32°C). • Cool: 50° to 99°F (10° to 37°C). “Cool On” or “Heat On” is flashing • Compressor protection feature is engaged. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damage to the compressor (see page 15).
