1 Turn Off Power to Heating/Cooling System M28097 1 69-2329EF—03
2 Remove Old Thermostat Remove old thermostat but leave wallplate with wires attached. Leave wallplate in place Is there a sealed tube containing mercury? If so, see back cover for proper disposal instructions.
3 Label Wires with Tags Label the wires using the supplied wire labels as you disconnect them.
4 Separate Wallplate from New Thermostat Remove battery holder. Wallplate M29532 Pull here to remove wallplate from new thermostat.
5 Mount Wallplate Mount the new wallplate using the included screws and anchors. MCR29533 Drill 3/16-in. holes for drywall Drill 3/32-in.

7 Install Batteries Install two AAA alkaline batteries.
8 Install Thermostat onto Wallplate Install thermostat onto the wallplate on the wall.
9 Turn Power Back On Turn the power back on to the heating/cooling system.

Advanced Installation Guide TROUBLESHOOTING ASSISTANCE WIRING SETUP Troubleshooting If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily. Display is blank • Make sure fresh AAA alkaline batteries are correctly installed (see page 7). Temperature settings do not change • Make sure heating and cooling temperatures are set to acceptable ranges: Heat: 40° to 90°F (4.5° to 32°C). Cool: 50° to 99°F (10° to 37°C).

2 Retirer l’ancien thermostat Enlever le couvercle et le thermostat, mais laisser la plaque murale et les fils en place. Y a-t-il une ampoule contenant du mercure? Si c’est le cas, se Laisser la plaque de reporter aux consignes figurant sur montage en place la couverture avant de ce livret pour connaître les règlements concernant l’élimination.
3 Étiqueter les fils Étiqueter les fils à l’aide des étiquettes fournies à mesure que les fils sont débranchés.
4 Séparer la plaque murale du nouveau thermostat Retirer le porte-piles. Plaque de montage Tirer ici pour enlever la plaque murale du thermostat neuf.
5 Installer la plaque Installer la nouvelle plaque murale à l’aide des vis et des chevilles d’ancrage fournies.
6 Raccorder les fils Il suffit ensuite de faire correspondre les fils avec les étiquettes. Retirer le cavalier en métal s’il y a à la fois les fils « R » et « Rc ». Enrouler du ruban isolant sur le fil B et ne pas l’utiliser. Ne pas se servir de C, X ou B. Enrouler du ruban isolant sur le bout dénudé du fil.
