Important! Using the G wire assumes there are wires at the thermostat connected
toG,
Y and
Con
your equipment. If this
is
not the case, please contact Customer Support.
1 Open the heating/cooling equipment that connects to
your thermostat.
2 Find the wiring terminals
G,
Y,
C
on
the furnace or air-
handler control board.
3 Unscrew the G terminal and move that wire to the C
terminal.
Be
sure the other wire(s) connected to the C
terminal stay securely connected when
you
re-tighten
the C terminal.
4 Use the included 18-gauge jumper wire to connect the
Y terminal to the G terminal.
Be
sure the other wire(s)
connected to
theY
terminal stay securely connected as
you
tighten the jumper wire.
5 Close the heating/cooling equipment.
6 Relabel the G wire as the C wire at the thermostat.
7 Complete the installation following the steps
in
the
instruction manual or quick start guide.
