Using your cleaner
Hoover’s unique Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette is the bagless system that separates and collects the dust from
the air thanks to its internal centrifugal force thus ensuring maximum hygiene and environment safeguard.
On/Off button (G). Once plugged in, press this button to start the cleaner. Press it again to stop the cleaner
before removing the plug after use.
Cord rewind button (H). Remove the plug from the power supply. Press this button to wind the power cord
back into the cleaner.
Electronic Cassette or Bag check indicator. (I). When active this device flashes a Red light to warn about the
following.
A. On all models the device flashes to warn you that the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette or the PureHepa bag
(depending on your selection) is full and requires emptying (cassette) or replacement (PureHepa bag). Please
refer to chapters “Emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette” and “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic
Cassette filter” or “Reverter System” and “Maintaining pre-motor and exhaust filter” in case of PureHepa bag
mode.
B. If after emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette the light is still flashing a blockage has occurred.
Please refer to chapter “Removing a blockage from the system”.
If the Cassette check indicator flashes for more than 5 minutes a buzzer will sound. At this point action must be
taken to ensure best performance.
Active Temperature control. When active this device automatically reduces its power to a protective level. If
the product is used for a prolonged period of time with a blockage causing the internal temperature to rise, the
machine will automatically reduce the power. This helps to keep the machine cool and safe until the restriction
can be removed.
Thermo Protection Switch. Cleaner automatically switches off. In this event extract the plug from the socket
and allow cleaner to cool for 30 minutes. Check if the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette needs cleaning or if
there is a blockage in the system (see chapter: “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter” and
“Removing a blockage from the system”).
Fixed Power Control (depending on model). The cleaner will operate at a fixed power setting.
Variable power control (I) (depending on model). Rotate the on/off button to increase or decrease suction. Use
low suction for delicate fabrics.
Carpet and floor nozzle (J). Press pedal on the nozzle to lower the brushes when cleaning hard floors. Press
the pedal again to lift the brushes when cleaning carpets.
Turbo nozzle (depending on model). Use the Turbo nozzle for deep cleaning on carpets. IMPORTANT: do not
use Turbo nozzle on rugs with long fringes, animal hide and over carpet piles with a depth exceeding 15mm. Do
not keep the nozzle stationary while the brush is rotating. Also available as an additional accessory.

Caresse nozzle (depending on model). Designed for use on wooden or any delicate floors. Also available as an
additional accessory. Order Pack No. G50 0484 5044.
Multi function tool. Tool is stored on the handle (F1). Remove tool and use as:
a) Crevice tool: for corners and hard to reach areas (K1).
b) Furniture nozzle: for soft furnishings and fabrics (K2).
c) Dusting brush (depending on model): for bookshelves, frames, keyboards etc. (K2). The dusting brush can be
can be activated by pressing the side latch and sliding outwards.
Tube Parking and Storage (L). The tubes can be parked at the rear of the cleaner or stored into the storage
slot underneath the cleaner.
Cleaner maintenance
Emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette
Check and empty the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette regularly, best after each use.
Extract the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (M).
Use the handle to carry the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to the dustbin (N).
Pull the latch to remove the cover from the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (O).
Grip the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette firmly and tip the contents into the dustbin. Shake the Dust Manager
Cyclonic Cassette if required or use a brush to remove any of the remaining dust or debris (P, and Q).
Wash the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette if required. See chapter “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic
Cassette filter”.
To close the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette locate the cover rear guides onto the container then close firmly.
Return the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to its original position in the cleaner.
Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter
To maintain the best performance, we recommend that you wash the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter
every month or as soon as you notice a drop in performance removing even the finest dust retained in it.
Shake out the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove large dirt and debris as described in “Empty the Dust
Manager Cyclonic Cassette”.
Brush the inside of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove the fine dust that may have formed on the
walls of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (Q).
