Trouble Shooting
Engine Will Not Start
Refill the tank.
NO
Is there fuel in the tank?
Is there oil in the engine? Add the recommended oil.
YES
NO
Is there a spark from the
spark plug?
Replace the
spark plug.
Take the water pump to an
authorized KDAR water
pump service center.
NO Still no Spark
YES
To Check:
1. Remove the spark plug cap and clean
any dirt from around the spark plug.
2. Remove the spark plug and install the
spark plug in the plug cap.
3. Set the plug side electrode on the cylin-
der head.
4. Crank engine, sparks should jump
across the gap.
 Be sure there is no spilled fuel
in the area.
 Gasoline is extremely flamma-
ble and is explosive under cer-
tain conditions.
WARNING
Is the fuel reaching the
carburetor?
YES
Clean the fuel sediment cup
and fuel filter.
NO
To Check:
1. Turn off the engine switch and
loosen the carburetor drain
screw.
2. Fuel should flow from the drain
when the fuel valve is turned on.
If the engine still does
not start, take the water
pump to a authorized
KDAR service center.
YES

Is the fuel valve on?
