Visit us on the web @ www.hotchkis.net INSTALLATION OF HOTCHKIS FRONT STABILIZER BAR 1) Securely block the rear wheels of the vehicle. Use a jack to raise the vehicle and support with jack stands.
4) Disconnect the endlinks from the sway bar and uninstall the bushings. 5) Remove the stock sway bar. 6) Using the supplied white silicone grease, spread an even coat of grease on the inside of the new Hotchkis bushings for the front bar then install.
7) Place the new Hotchkis bar in the vehicle and slip the endlinks into the bar to help support it until you install the bushing brackets. 8) Install the bushing brackets making sure the zerk fittings are facing outwards. 9) Connect and fully tighten end links to sway bar.
10) Reinstall the plastic undertray using the stock hardware. 11) Re-check all hardware for tightness. installation You are finished with the front sway bar IMPORTANT: For maintenance, use the zerk fittings to grease the bushings at least once a year (15,000 miles) or when excessive noise occurs. Use a silicone based grease only! A lithium-based grease can wash out with water and should not be used.
INSTALLATION OF HOTCHKIS REAR SWAY BAR 1) Securely block the front wheels of the vehicle. Jack up the vehicle and support it with jack stands. 2) Take a look at the factory rear bar installation and note how the bends curve around the other parts in the car. 3) Remove the 2 plastic splash guards that cover the antiroll bar bushings using a 10mm wrench. 4) Disconnect the exhaust flange bolts and hanger bolts. There are 6 all together.
5) Remove tunnel brace. This will allow the exhaust piping to be lowered and allow easier access to the sway bar. Depending on how high your vehicle is raised, it may be necessary to have something to allow your piping to rest on. 6) Remove the nuts that hold the endlinks to the bar, leave the end link attached to the sway bar to assist in holding the bar up. Next remove the bushings.
) Remove the factory sway bar. 8) Use the grease provided to apply a uniform coat of grease to the inside of the rear bar bushings and install. 9) Slip the bar into the car over the exhaust and install the endlinks into the end of the bar to help hold it up.
10) Install the Hotchkis brackets over the bushings and using the factory bolts, tighten the bar to the frame. 11) On the placement of the REAR endlinks, Hotchkis recommends installing the endlink into the hole NEAREST the end of the bar. This is the lightest setting. The stiffness can be adjusted at a later point to fine tune the car for your driving preference. Tighten this to 40 ft-lbs as well.
12) Reconnect exhaust piping and reinstall tunnel brace. 13) Reinstall plastic splash guards. 14) Check that all hardware is tight.
