Modem module
NOTE: The modem module spare part kit does not include a modem module cable. The modem
module cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 533466-001. See
Cable Kit on page 29
for more Cable Kit spare part number information.

Modem module for use in all countries and regions except Australia and New Zealand 510100-001
Modem module for use only in Australia and New Zealand 510100-011
Before removing the modem module, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 48).
5. Remove the following components:
a. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 57).
b. Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 51).
c. Switch cover and keyboard (see
Switch cover and keyboard on page 63).
d. Display assembly (see
Display assembly on page 68).
e. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 80).
Remove the modem module:
1. Disconnect the modem module cable (1) from the modem module.
2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×3.0 screws (2) that secure the modem module to the system board.
