Introduction This guide describes how to use the new PCL 3 printer software (version 3.1) for HP 2500C Series printers in the Windows 2000 environment. This printer software does not include the Toolbox program, links to HP web sites, and internet registration for the printer. Note: Information pertaining to NT 4.0 in the HP 2500C Series User’s Guide and Network Guide applies to Windows 2000 unless stated otherwise. Please use this guide in conjunction with both documents.

Configuring to Print on the Network The options described in the HP 2500C Series Network Guide (section 6) are applicable to Windows 2000. Please note the following additional information: Using the Windows® 2000 CD Instead of the Starter CD, use the Windows® 2000 CD to install the HP 2500C Series printer software. Please refer to the section on Installing from the Windows® 2000 CD.
Print with Special Features and Options The HP 2500C Series PCL 3 printer software has built-in smart software features and options to help you print exciting and outstanding documents easily. You can select these features from the Effects tab in the print settings. Refer to the section on Changing Print Settings. HP ZoomSmart Scaling Technology Allows you to automatically enlarge or reduce your printout. Handout Enables you to print 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16 pages of your document onto a single sheet of paper.
Mirror Image Allows you to print a laterally inverted image of your page. For more information on printing using these special features and options, see the online help for the HP 2500C Series printer software. Maintaining the Printer You can run the utilities for maintaining the HP 2500C Series printer from the printer’s Control Panel, or from the printer software. From the Printer Software 1.
