5. To test that the paper is loaded correctly, advance the paper with the paper feed button (1), and then
tear the excess paper o against the knife on the cover. A steady green LED (2) means the printer is on
and operating normally. If the LED is ashing, the cover may not be completely shut.
Thermal paper specications
The printer requires qualied thermal paper with the following dimensions:

Width: 80 +0/-0.6 mm (3.15 +0/-0.03")

Diameter: 50.8 mm max. (2”)
The paper must not be attached at the roll’s core. Use paper with a colored stripe at the end to indicate that
the paper is running low.
The above gures are based on a core diameter of 22 ± 0.5 mm (0.87") outside and 11.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.45")
inside.
Qualied paper grades
Contact the manufacturer of your choice to order paper. HP recommends the following paper grades produced
by their respective manufacturers. There are a number of paper manufacturers qualied to provide this
paper, provided the POS paper rolls are from the recommended grades for monochrome (black ink) paper.
