NOTE: The touchpad cable is available in the Cable Kit as spare part number L45087-001.

Before removing the touchpad assembly, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 33).
2. Place the computer in Battery Safe mode (Battery Safe mode on page 33).
3. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 34).
4. Remove the battery (Battery on page 36).
Remove the touchpad assembly:
1. Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad (1).
2. Lift the silver tape from the touchpad (2).
3. Remove the six broad head Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (3) that secure the touchpad to the computer.
4. Remove the touchpad from the computer (4).
Reverse this procedure to install the touchpad assembly.
