B BIOS tools
There are two kinds of BIOS tools for HP ThinPro:

BIOS settings tool—Used to retrieve or modify BIOS settings
●
BIOS ashing tool—Used to update the BIOS
These tools can be run via an X terminal.
BIOS settings tool
The following table describes the syntax for the BIOS settings tool.
NOTE: Changes do not take eect until the next reboot.
Syntax Description
hptc-bios-cfg –G FileName Retrieves the current BIOS settings and saves them to the
specied le so they can be viewed or modied (CPQSETUP.TXT
by default).
hptc-bios-cfg –S FileName Writes the BIOS settings from the specied le (CPQSETUP.TXT by
default) to the BIOS.
hptc-bios-cfg –h
Displays a list of options.
BIOS ashing tool
The following table describes the syntax for the BIOS ashing tool.
NOTE: Changes do not take eect until the next reboot.
Syntax Description
hptc-bios-ash ImageName Prepares the system to update the BIOS during the next restart.
This command automatically copies the les into the correct
location and prompts you to restart the thin client.
NOTE: This command requires that the Tool-less update option
in the BIOS settings is set to Auto.
hptc-bios-flash –h
Displays a list of options.
