HP ProDesk 400 G4 Small Form Factor (SFF) - Maintenance and Service Guide
WLAN module
The computer has one WLAN module socket.
CAUTION: To prevent an unresponsive system, replace the wireless module only with a wireless module
authorized for use in the computer by the governmental agency that regulates wireless devices in your
country or region. If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to
restore device functionality, and then contact technical support.
To remove, replace, or add a WLAN module:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 23).
2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 24).
3. Remove the drive cage (see Drive cage on page 28).
4. Disconnect the wireless antenna cables (1) from the terminals on the WLAN module.
NOTE: The wireless antenna cable labeled "1/MAIN" connects to the WLAN module "Main" terminal.
The wireless antenna cable labeled "2/AUX" connects to the WLAN module "Aux" terminal.
5. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the WLAN module to the computer. (The WLAN
module tilts up.)
6. Remove the WLAN module (3) by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle.
NOTE: If the wireless antenna cables are not connected to the WLAN module terminal, protective sleeves (if
available) should be installed on the antenna connectors, as shown in the following illustration.
