Do not try to open the laser device enclosure. There are no user-serviceable components inside.
Do not operate controls, make adjustments, or perform procedures to the laser device other than
those specied herein.
Allow only HP authorized ser vice technicians to repair the laser device.
Compliance with CDRH regulations
The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
implemented regulations for laser products on August 2, 1976. These regulations apply to laser products
manufactured from August 1, 1976. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United States.
Certication and classication information
This product c ontains a laser internal to the Optical Link Module (OLM) for connection to the Fibre
communications port.
In the USA, the OLM is certied as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements contained in
the Department of Health a nd H um an Services (D H HS) regulation 21 CFR, S ubchapter J. The certication
is indicated by a label on the plastic OLM housing.
Outside the USA, the OLM is certied as a Class 1 l aser product c onforming to the requirements
contained in IEC 8 2 5-1:199 3 and EN 60825-1:1994, including Amendment 11:1996.
The OLM includes the following certications:
UL Recognized Component (USA)
CSA Certied Component (Canada)
TUV Certied Component (European Union)
CB Cer ticate (Worldwide)
Canadien notice (avis Canadien)
Class A equipment
This Class A digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment
Regulations.
