Entering data using the OCP
Two pieces of data critical to initial setup must be entered into the OCP:
• WWN —Mandatory to complete setup.
• Storage syst
em password—Optional. A passwor d is a security interlock that allows only specific
instances o
f Command View EVA to access the storage system.
Setting up a controller pair using the OCP
Fibre Channel protocol requires that each controller pair has a unique Nod e WWN. This 16-character
alphanumeric name identifies the controller pair on the storage system. The Enterprise Virtual Array
World Wide Name Label identifies the W WN for each storage system. The Node WWN labels, similar
to the one shown in Figure 11, identify the storage system WW N and checksum. During the installation of
the storage system, t wo W WN labels are attached to the rack on both sides of the controller enclosures.

This is the only WWN applicable to any controller installed in a specificphysicallocation, evena

Once a WWN is assigned to a controller, you cannot change the WWN while the controller is part
ofthesamestoragesystem.
