IMPORTANT: Make special note of each screw and screw lock size and location during removal and

replacement.

Before removing the back cover, follow these steps:

1. Turn o the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the

computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4. Remove the following components:

Kickstand (select products only) (see Kickstand on page 26)

Remove the back cover:

Lift the kickstand (1) , and then remove the 6 Torx T5 3 mm screws (2) securing the back cover.

Reverse this procedure to replace the back cover.
