Creating Virtual Volumes and Datastores
You have the option of creating a new virtual volume on the HP 3PAR System and have it exported
to the vCenter managed ESX/ESX(i) host where it can be accessed.
Creating a Virtual Volume from an Existing HP 3PAR System Template
Follow these steps to create a new virtual volume:
1. In the main menu navigation, click HomeInventoryHost and Clusters.
2. Go to the HP 3PARVirtual Volumes.
3. Click Provision New. The Provision Storage welcome screen appears with information
concerning the provisioning process.

NOTE: To prevent the welcome screen from displaying in the future, select the “Skip this
page in the future when provisioning storage” check box.
4. Click Next to select a storage system template to be used for provisioning.
