Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy Support
3PAR Recovery Manager 4.1.0 For Microsoft Exchange 2010 User’s Guide
You can use the backup server of Recovery Manager for Microsoft Exchange 2010 at the
secondary site with the following procedure:
1 Mount the virtual copy to the production server.
2 Log onto the production server, stop the Exchange instance and its dependent services.
3 From the mounted snapshot volumes, manually copy all necessary mailbox database and
log files to the corresponding mailbox database location.
4 Re-start the Exchange instance and its dependent services.
5 Log back onto the backup server, unmount the virtual copy.
9.5 Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy Support
Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy is supported with synchronous and periodic modes.
The Recovery Manager server should have connectivity to the InServ in periodic mode.
NOTE: If you are performing a promote restore for volumes in a Synchronous
Long Distance Remote Copy relationship, you must manually stop Remote Copy
before initiating the volume promote restore.
