3PAR Recovery Manager 4.1.0 For Microsoft Exchange 2010 User’s Guide
Problem:
Recovery Manager creates the virtual copy successfully but does not show it in GUI or in CLI.
Suggestion:
If t he virtual copy is requested on a passive from active node or vice versa, it will be created on
the desired node. The virtual copy is visible only on the node where it is created. Check the
appropriate node.
Problem:
Recovery Manager shows the virtual copy as available but it is mounted or vice versa.
OR
Recovery Manager shows the virtual copy as available but still it still cannot be mounted as the
status indicates that the virtual copy is already mounted.
Suggestion:
This mismatched entry might be due to a previously failed Recovery Manager operation(s).
Check the mismatched entries using the
analyze command.
To resolve these entries, follow the steps detailed below:
1 Remove VLUNs and VVs for the mismatched volume.
Run:
RMExch analyze -mdb <mailbox_db>
This command will show which VVs and VLUNs may be left over from a previously failed
operation. Remove these VLUNs and VVs manually from the InServ.
2 Remove timestamp entries from the repository.
Run:
RMExch analyze -mdb <mailbox_db>
This will show all "Missing VVs" from a Mailbox Database. These are the VV entries that are
deleted from InServ but are still in the repository. Remove the respective timestamps from
repository by deleting the directory:
<installpath>\3PAR\RM\Exchange\Repository\<exchange server>\<mailbox_db>\<time
stamp>
