6.11 Restoring from Virtual Copy Timestamp
Recovery Manager allows the restoration of the virtual copy to its source Mailbox Database. A
virtual copy timestamp can be restored by using File Copy or Volume restore. The restore
operation will restore from a mounted and un-mounted Virtual Copy Timestamp. A mounted
timestamp or non-Promotable timestamp can only perform File Copy restore. A promotable
timestamp can perform both File Copy and Volume restore.
6.11.1 File Copy Restore
1 In the node tree, right-click the timestamp of the corresponding Mailbox Database and
select Restore Using > File Copy.
Result: The File Copy Restore dialog box appears.
2 Select Click to continue to confirm you understand the warning, which enables the OK
button.
3 Click OK.
Result: Only the modified data will be replaced with the data in the selected virtual copy.
NOTE: You can monitor the NetBackup progress using the progress log, which is
located at:
<RM_installation_location>\log\nbulog\Mailbox_Database_timestamp.log.
